Unlocking Opportunities: The Benefits of the FAU Alumni Association
Since its inception in 1964, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) has touched the lives of countless individuals in South Florida and across the globe. The FAU Alumni Association (FAUAA), established in 1968, serves as a vital link, connecting the university with its ever-growing alumni community. By joining the FAUAA, alumni gain access to a wide array of benefits and opportunities designed to foster lifelong connections, support their alma mater, and advance their professional and personal growth.
Connecting with a Global Network
One of the primary advantages of FAUAA membership is the opportunity to connect with fellow alumni worldwide. Being a Florida Atlantic alum means being part of a community of individuals who share a common bond. Through various networking events, programs, and initiatives, the FAUAA facilitates meaningful connections among alumni, creating a powerful network for socializing, professional development, and mutual support.
Owl Networks, categorized by affinity, geography, and profession, connect Florida Atlantic alumni around the world for socializing, networking, supporting Florida Atlantic events, and obtaining industry-specific support. Whether you're looking to connect with fellow Owls in your industry, region, or with shared interests, these networks provide a platform for building lasting relationships.
Exclusive Events and Benefits
FAUAA membership grants access to exclusive events and benefits that enrich the alumni experience. These include special events and programs designed to keep alumni connected with the university and each other. By joining the Alumni Association, you’ll receive access to exclusive events and amazing benefits that will enhance your alumni experience.
Supporting Future Generations
Membership in the FAUAA is not just about personal gain; it's also about giving back to the university and supporting the next generation of FAU students. By joining the FAUAA, you will have the opportunity to support your alma mater. Membership contributes to the sustained success of alumni programs, which encompass a range of resources, including educational resources, career services, and regional and local clubs.

Career Advancement Resources
The FAUAA is committed to supporting the career advancement of its alumni. The FAU Career Center has partnered with Handshake, a modern career development platform that serves as a one-stop-shop for launching and advancing careers. Alumni Career Services are exclusively for FAU graduates who have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from FAU.
The FAU Career Center is happy to assist you with your job search needs or help you connect with the campus community. Alumni can take advantage of a range of services, including:
- Career Counseling: A career assessment inventory is available for a onetime fee of \$50, which includes one individual counseling session for a personal interpretation. Alumni who miss an appointment (aka no-show) or don't cancel their appointment two (2) business days prior to the scheduled appointment will forfeit the \$90 (or \$50 career assessment) fee for the scheduled session.
- On-Campus Interviews: Alumni are eligible to participate in the On-Campus Interview (OCI) program with employers who request alumni, provided they meet the employer's specifications.
- Employer Information Sessions: Alumni are invited to attend employer information sessions when the employer is recruiting alumni.
- Job Search Assistance: The FAU Career Center provides assistance with job search strategies, resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation.
- CareerSource Florida: Alumni can access CareerSource Florida, an online resource that links all of Florida's workforce services-state and local-to each other. The state partners are CareerSource Florida, the state policy and oversight board, and the Department of Economic Opportunity. At the local level, there are twenty-four regional workforce boards that administer close to 100 "one-stop centers” in the CareerSource Florida system.
Honoring Alumni Achievements
The Florida Atlantic University Alumni Association hosts its annual Hall of Fame & Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony and Reception. The event brings together alumni to celebrate the accomplishments of their outstanding peers, with alumni from nine of FAU’s colleges honored for their career accomplishments. This event not only recognizes the achievements of individual alumni but also showcases the collective impact of FAU graduates on the world.
Supporting Military and Veteran Alumni
In the spirit of encouraging life-long relationships with our military, veterans and affiliated family alumni, the Military and Veteran Student Success Center (MVSSC) encourage you to join the FAU Alumni Association (FAUAA) and sign up for the Military and Veterans Alumni Network (MVAN) Group. This network provides a platform for military and veteran alumni to connect with each other, access resources, and support current military-affiliated students.
Furthermore, current or former FAU active military, veterans, dependents, and spouses can get an FAU transcript fee waiver. Instructions are provided under the “Active Duty Military/Honorably Discharged Veteran Transcript Requests” section.
