At the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, FIU prepares students to become health care leaders through state-of-the-art simulation labs, transformative research opportunities and clinical partnerships with leading health care systems across Miami. FIU Medicine connects research to patient care. In collaboration with clinical and research partners at Baptist Health, Nicklaus Children's and the FIU Center for Translational Science, FIU addresses some of the biggest challenges in medicine, including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, HIV and more.

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine includes the Benjamin Leon, Jr. Family Center for Geriatric Research and Education.
