Unlocking Opportunities: A Guide to Florida State University Alumni Association Benefits

The Florida State University (FSU) Alumni Association offers a wide array of benefits designed to keep graduates connected, supported, and engaged with the university and each other. These benefits cater to various aspects of alumni life, from professional development and networking to travel and community involvement. This article explores the diverse advantages of being a member of the FSU Alumni Association.

Staying Connected

Finding Your Fellow Seminoles

One of the primary goals of the FSU Alumni Association is to help alumni stay connected with their former classmates and other Seminoles, no matter where they are in the world. The association provides resources to help alumni find each other, fostering a sense of community that extends far beyond the university campus.

Seminole Clubs and Chapters

With more than 60 Seminole Clubs and Chapters worldwide, the FSU Alumni Association ensures that alumni have a local connection to the university. These groups represent the FSU community within their own communities, hosting events and activities that promote camaraderie and Seminole spirit. To create a Seminole Club, an area must have an alumni population of at least 250. These clubs and chapters provide FSU alumni and friends in a specific region or area with a connection to the university by hosting events throughout the year that inspire alumni to participate in community service, continuing education, networking, and fun.

VIRES® Magazine

Florida State University's official alumni publication, VIRES® magazine, is produced biannually by the Division of University Advancement. Named after the first torch in the university seal, vires represents strength of all kinds: physical, mental, and moral. The magazine keeps FSU alumni, parents, and friends connected to the university with compelling articles and stories about Florida State University and its faculty, students, and graduates.

FSU Connect

FSU Connect is a digital networking platform exclusively for the Seminole community. This platform allows alumni to connect with each other for various purposes, such as navigating a new city, exploring career paths, or expanding their professional network. Whether you’re navigating a new city, exploring career paths or expanding your network, FSU Connect is your go-to resource.

Insurance Options

The Alumni Benefits Program offers insurance solutions tailored to different life stages such as:

  • Long Term Care Insurance: As friends or family are helping loved ones who require round-the-clock care, you know first-hand how financially and emotionally difficult it can be. While you’re healthy and before you’re not, you may want to consider Long Term Care insurance.
  • Pet Insurance: When Spot needs an emergency vet visit, of course you’ll want to take him right away. Yet, vet bills can be expensive and can quickly pile up, so our pet insurance is designed to help you manage these unexpected costs.
  • Travel Insurance: After planning a vacation for several months and spending a significant sum on transportation and hotels, you find that on the day that you are set to leave, you’re suddenly stricken with 103 degree fever and diagnosed with pneumonia. Sure, you have to cancel, but can you get your money back?
  • Cyberattack Protection: Did you know that your medical insurance and health records could be compromised during a cyberattack? While identity theft is unfortunately becoming more common every day, medical identity theft could not only hurt your wallet, it could be detrimental to your health.
  • Small Business Employee Benefits: If you’re a small business owner and you’re struggling to provide employee benefits, then believe it or not, but we’ve got you covered here too.
