Lifelong Learning Institute: Enriching the Franklin Community

The Lifelong Learning Institute, a branch of Franklin Public Schools, extends educational opportunities to residents of Franklin and surrounding towns through a diverse range of programs. With a focus on affordability and safety, the institute provides high-quality extended day child care, music lessons, and enrichment activities for children and adults alike.

Solutions Extended Day: Summer Adventure for Elementary Students

The Solutions Extended Day program offers an engaging summer experience for students entering kindergarten through grade 5. The annual Solutions Summer Adventure, running for five weeks, features a different activity theme each week, providing children with a variety of stimulating and fun-filled experiences. Families can choose one or more weeks of this 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM camp, with options for early drop-off and/or late pickup.

STAR Enrichment Program: Exploring New Interests

Students entering grades K through 6 can explore their passions and discover new talents through the STAR Enrichment Program. A variety of morning classes are offered in July, covering diverse subjects such as Silly Science, Funky Furniture, Gardening Fun, Minecraft Break Battle and Build, Coping with Crafts, Itty Bitty Acting, Author’s Workshop, and many more!

Ready, Set, Kindergarten: Preparing for School

Eager young students entering kindergarten can participate in the Ready, Set, Kindergarten program. Through books, dramatic play, music, arts, and crafts, they will become familiar with the classroom setting and daily routines while having fun learning through hands-on experiences. The program runs for three different weeks in July.

Lifelong Music Academy: Unleashing Musical Potential

The Lifelong Music Academy nurtures the musical talents of students through its Summer Band, Glee, Strings, and Rock Band Jr. programs. This two-week program, running from July 25 to August 5, includes 40 hours of summer music fun with recreation time every day.

Kids’ Corner: Culinary Adventures

Lifelong Community Learning’s ever popular Kids’ Corner program is once again offering a Summer Kids’ Cooking camp. For 3 hours each day August 2-4, students entering grades 4-7 can sear, sauté, fold and mix while they prepare a complete meal every day.

Expanding Horizons: STEM, Art, and College Preparation

The Lifelong Learning Institute offers a wide array of additional programs to cater to diverse interests and needs. The Summer STEM program encompasses math, forensic science, computers, and financial literacy, while Summer Art includes photography and video production. High school seniors can prepare for college with the Preparing for College program, which includes Common App Bootcamp and Writing Your College Essay workshops.
