Delving into the World of Fundamental Paper Education

Fundamental Paper Education (FPE) was an animated web series created by YouTuber and animator Kaaatie. Drawn in a distinctive paper style, the series depicted a group of students navigating a school environment dominated by menacing teachers. The animation gained popularity in early March, capturing the attention of viewers with its unique aesthetic and suspenseful narrative. However, the series was later discontinued, leaving fans with unanswered questions and a sense of loss.

The Paper School: A Tour of Key Locations

The narrative of Fundamental Paper Education unfolds primarily within the confines of the Paper School. This seemingly ordinary educational institution harbors dark secrets and serves as the backdrop for the students' struggle for survival. The school comprises various classrooms and facilities, each with its distinct characteristics.

Classrooms

  • Miss Circle’s Math Class: This is prominently featured at the beginning of the series. Resembling a typical classroom, it’s equipped with desks, bookshelves, and a blackboard covered in mathematical equations. This is where Claire faces teasing from Zip, Oliver, and Edward, and where Abbie is confronted about a failing grade. Miss Circle, with her sharp features and compass-like hand, presides over this classroom, instilling fear in her students.
  • Miss Thavel’s English Class: Briefly seen at the beginning, the front of the room boasts a blue-rimmed triple blackboard displaying the greeting "hello" in various languages.
  • Miss Bloomie’s Science Class: Also glimpsed at the beginning, this classroom features a triple blackboard adorned with scientific equations.
  • Miss Sasha’s Art Class: Seen later in the video, particularly during Miss Bloomie's pursuit of Claire, this room is filled with tables, shelves, and cabinets. A canvas displaying a flower painting stands at the front, while a banner hangs from the ceiling.
  • Miss Emily’s History Class: This room is briefly shown as Δlice exits, causing the school to transform into a more vibrant, 3D environment. A blue-rimmed blackboard with the phrase "All students are stupid XD" is visible, along with a desk holding a few supplies.
  • Δlice’s Room: While shown throughout the video, it is only entered at the end when Claire is tricked by Zip and Oliver into thinking it was an exit.

Other School Facilities

  • The Library: A large, multi-story space resembling a typical library. Tables are placed in the center, and Claire and Engel are seen conversing within its walls before Claire is abducted by Edward's drone.
  • The School Pool: Features a large swimming pool surrounded by bleachers, with blue and white banners hanging from the ceiling.
  • The Gym: Briefly seen during Miss Thavel's chase of Claire, the gym contains a basketball court with bleachers lining the sides.
  • The School Cafeteria: This area is briefly shown while Miss Circle is chasing Claire.

The Characters

The series features a cast of characters, each contributing to the overall narrative.

  • Miss Circle: A math teacher and the primary antagonist of the series. She is distinguished by her sharp features and a drawing compass for a hand, which she uses to punish students who perform poorly.
  • Claire: A student who is central to the plot.
  • Zip, Oliver, and Edward: Students who tease Claire.
  • Abbie: A student who is confronted by Miss Circle about a failing grade.
  • Miss Thavel: The English teacher.
  • Miss Bloomie: The science teacher.
  • Miss Sasha: The art teacher.
  • Miss Emily: The history teacher.
  • Δlice: A character whose exit from Miss Emily's class causes the school to transform.
  • Engel: A character who is seen talking to Claire in the library.

The Downfall of Fundamental Paper Education

Despite its initial success, Fundamental Paper Education faced an untimely end. Several factors contributed to its discontinuation.

  • Kaaatie's Discomfort with Attention: On November 24, 2024, Kaaatie unlisted the original "Basics in Behavior" video and issued a statement expressing her desire to withdraw from the spotlight and focus on personal projects.
  • Speculation about Content Farms and Character Sexualization: Some speculate that Kaaatie's decision to end the series was influenced by the proliferation of content farms and the sexualization of her characters, including proshipping within the fandom.
  • Kaaatie's "Starting Over": In another statement, Kaaatie claimed that "nothing is the same anymore," alluding to the aforementioned issues.
  • Deletion of FPE-Related Content: On January 26/27th, 2025, Kaaatie removed all FPE and Δlice-related posts from her X (formerly Twitter) page and changed her biography to "I just want to start over again." Although the bio was later removed, this action signaled her intention to distance herself from the series.
  • Further Purging of Social Media: On February 11th, 2025, Kaaatie deleted all remaining posts from her X page and unfollowed everyone she previously followed.
  • Privatization of YouTube Videos: On February 14th, 2025, Kaaatie made all of her videos private, including "Basics in Behavior," and hid her last post on her YouTube channel. She also changed her channel description to "Fall is my favorite season🍁," which was later removed.
  • Deactivation of Social Media Accounts: On March 4th, 2025, Kaaatie's X account was officially deactivated and subsequently deleted.
  • Deletion of YouTube Account: On the same day, her YouTube account was completely deleted.
