The Golden State Warriors Community Foundation is dedicated to supporting education and youth development, fostering thriving students, schools, and communities within the Bay Area. Through strategic investments and impactful programs, the foundation aims to address inequities and create opportunities for young people to reach their full potential.

Investing in Youth and Education

The Foundation's commitment to youth and education is demonstrated through significant investments and impactful programs:

Creating Safe Spaces for Basketball

Recognizing the importance of safe and accessible spaces for recreation, the Foundation has undertaken the following initiatives:

90+ Refurbished Courts: The Foundation has refurbished over 90 basketball courts in low-income communities, creating safe and clean places for youth to play.

Sharing the Joy of Warriors Games

The Foundation believes in providing enriching experiences for young people:

20K+ Tickets Donated: The Foundation has donated over 20,000 tickets to Warriors home games, sharing the excitement and joy of basketball with underserved youth.

Strength In Numbers: Joining the Team

The Foundation recognizes that addressing the challenges facing the Bay Area requires a collective effort. Individuals can contribute to the Foundation's mission by becoming a Sixth Fan member. Monthly donations from Sixth Fan members go towards vital tools and resources for grantees of the Golden State Community Foundation. These grants are focused in the areas of STEM education, elementary literacy, college access and other youth development programs.

Scholarship Opportunities for Youth Basketball Camps

The Golden State Community Foundation offers scholarships to Bay Area youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in youth basketball camps and other skill development programs.

Eligibility Requirements

Low-Income Youth: Low-income youth, defined as qualifying for free or reduced lunch, are encouraged to apply.
Age Requirement: Entrants must be ages 7-15.

Application Process

Completed Application: Scholarships will be awarded based on the youth applicant’s (“Entrant”) completed application, financial need, and youth basketball camp availability.
Incomplete Applications: Incomplete applications will not be eligible for a scholarship.
Camp Registration: The Foundation cannot guarantee requests for specific youth basketball camp sessions or clinics; applicants will have to register directly with camps.

Scholarship Award Details

One Scholarship Per Year: Entrants can only be awarded one (1) scholarship per calendar year.
Reapplication: If an Entrant is not awarded a scholarship for a particular application period, they are welcome to apply again during the next application period.

Selection Process

Review of Submissions: The Foundation will review all eligible submissions received during a particular application period.
Selection Criteria: Potential recipients of the scholarship will be selected based on the strength of an Entrant’s completed application, financial need, and youth basketball camp availability.
Potential Winner Selection: Entrants that properly complete all necessary steps and submit by the end of the particular application period, will be chosen by the Foundation or their designee as a potential scholarship winner (“Potential Winner”).
Selection Timeline: Potential winners will be selected within twenty-one (21) days after the particular application period ends.

Humboldt Area Foundation: The Humboldt Area Foundation serves the communities of Northern California, providing grants and scholarships to local organizations and individuals.
- Dolph Fursee Fund: This fund assists adults with disabilities with transportation and mobility.
