Each year, the program awards $5,000 to four (4) high school seniors who hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and are passionate about helping others.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student living near each of Nissin Foods’ three US facilities:

Los Angeles County, California
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
Greenville County, South Carolina

The fourth scholarship will be awarded to the child or dependent of a Nissin Foods employee.

Texas Good Neighbor Scholarship: Supporting International Students

The Good Neighbor Scholarship (GNS) in Texas provides an exemption from the payment of tuition for a 12-month period beginning with the Fall Semester following selection as a scholarship recipient. The GNS does not cover fees. The Good Neighbor Scholarship (GNS) committee will assign priority numbers to all eligible applicants, so that if all applicants cannot receive scholarships the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) will know which applicants are given highest priority. UT Dallas will submit Good Neighbor Scholarship (GNS) recommendations to the THECB.

Eligibility and Requirements

This scholarship is designed for students not eligible for in-state tuition via a waiver (Mexican waiver), in-state scholarship, or assistantship. However, Mexican nationals qualify for the Tuition assistance for Mexican Students which allows citizens with documented financial need to waive non-resident tuition and pay the same tuition as Texas residents at TXST. The Utah Legislature recognized the need for students living just over the Utah border to have an affordable higher education option. In 2013, they revised House Bill 364 to allow Utah Tech to charge a reduced rate (similar to the Western Undergraduate Exchange or WUE program) specific to students in 4 counties in close geographic proximity to St. George.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Good Neighbor Waiver at Utah Tech, students must:

Major in an eligible Utah Tech program.
Be a high school graduate from a school in Lincoln or Clark County in Nevada, or Mohave or Coconino County in Arizona.

The program is set for a maximum of 8 semesters.
