Harper College Printing Services: A Comprehensive Guide
Harper College is committed to providing its students with the resources they need to succeed academically, including accessible and efficient printing services. This guide offers a detailed overview of these services, covering everything from printing locations and costs to troubleshooting and environmental initiatives.
Printing Locations and Access
Harper College offers various printing locations across campus to cater to student needs. Book scan stations are conveniently located on the first and second floors of the Library, providing students with easy access to document scanning facilities. Color printers are available in Y203 and F206. Printing is also available in open labs for documents less than 50 pages.
Printing Costs and Payment
The cost for printing is $0.10 per side. You will be charged for a print job at the time it is released to print.
Monitoring Print Usage
Harper College actively monitors print usage to understand student printing habits. This data helps the institution determine the average and maximum print usage of students per semester, allowing for informed decisions regarding resource allocation and environmental impact.
Print Job Management
Before sending a document to print, always review the total number of pages in the print job. Once a job is sent, it remains in the queue until released at a release station. After releasing the job, the account will be charged.

Print Account Management
Registered credit students receive a print allocation each semester. This allocation remains available until the totals are reset for the next semester. These resets are aligned with the Academic Calendar and typically occur on the Sunday night one week before the semester begins.
Addressing Printer Malfunctions and Refunds
In the event of a printer malfunction, students can request a refund for the charged amount. To do so, report the issue at the desk, providing your name and the name of the print job (the name of the file being printed). Once verified, the charged amount will be restored to your print account, and the funds will be available for immediate use.
Lost and Found for ID Cards
If you happen to lose your ID card, the Box Office in J building maintains a Lost and Found for ID cards.
Environmental Initiatives
Harper College is committed to fostering an environmentally friendly and greener campus. By monitoring print usage and promoting responsible printing practices, the college aims to minimize its environmental footprint and promote sustainability.
