While the current Akron campus building, located at 1600 South Arlington St, Suite 100, opened in 2004, Herzing Akron was established in 1970 under the title Akron Institute of Herzing University. Unlike many universities with large outdoor spaces, Herzing Akron is entirely contained within a single professional building. This practical and commuter-friendly learning environment is focused on getting students in and out for classes and lab work. The campus itself is professional and practical in focus, rather than traditional college-campus style. Because the campus is close to main roads and in a suburban commercial area of Akron, close to I-77/224, there are no dormitories or residence halls on site. Students essentially walk into this one building for all in-person needs. But don’t let the simple structure deceive you! Herzing Akron features state-of-the-industry facilities, classrooms, clinical and simulation, student support areas and administrative offices that support teaching and career services.
