Herzing University Clarksville Campus

Herzing University, an accredited, private nonprofit institution, celebrated the grand opening of its Clarksville campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, November 10. This event marked an important milestone in higher education and workforce development for the region - especially for the military community and local healthcare partners. “As an institution founded by a veteran, service is at the heart of what Herzing University stands for,” said Laurna Taylor, Director of Campus Operations at Herzing University’s Nashville and Clarksville campuses. “Our Clarksville campus serves as a bridge for our military community, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills and discipline to in-demand healthcare and professional fields.”

Located near Fort Campbell, the Clarksville campus is designed to help service members, veterans and their families successfully transition into civilian careers in nursing, healthcare, behavioral health, business, technology, legal studies and public safety with a mix of on-campus, hybrid and online programs. Serving as a satellite location of Herzing’s Nashville campus, the Clarksville site reflects the growing demand for healthcare professionals in the region and underscores Herzing’s commitment to supporting adult learners and underserved communities. The campus spans just over 24,000 square feet and features advanced simulation technology with neonatal and adult mannequins that replicate real-world clinical settings, giving students immersive, hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

Herzing University Akron Campus

For over 45 years, Herzing University Akron has provided Youngstown and Tri-County residents with access to the degrees and support they need to transform their lives. While the current Akron campus building, located at 1600 South Arlington St, Suite 100, opened in 2004, Herzing Akron was established in 1970 under the title Akron Institute of Herzing University. Unlike many universities with large outdoor spaces, Herzing Akron is entirely contained within a single professional building. This practical and commuter-friendly learning environment is focused on getting students in and out for classes and lab work. The campus itself is professional and practical in focus, rather than traditional college-campus style. Because the campus is close to main roads and in a suburban commercial area of Akron, close to I-77/224, there are no dormitories or residence halls on site. Students essentially walk into this one building for all in-person needs. But don’t let the simple structure deceive you! Herzing Akron features state-of-the-industry facilities, classrooms, clinical and simulation, student support areas and administrative offices that support teaching and career services.
