In its nearly 75-year history, as of 2026, the college has had only four presidents. Founding director Dr. George E. Frost served until 1975. Alumnus and former Speaker of the Massachusetts House Dr. David M. Bartley succeeded him. Following Bartley's retirement in 2004, William F. Messner became the third president. The current president, Dr. Richard H. Michael F. Michael J. Henry P., continues to lead the institution.
