It’s best to contact your local Sylvan center for specifics. Sylvan Learning has over 750 centers worldwide, mostly in the US and Canada (with some in Asia/Europe). Each center adapts to local school standards.
Program Type
The type of program you choose will also affect the cost. Personalized tutoring programs typically cost $50+ per session. Test preparation courses and camps may have different pricing structures. If you choose Sylvan’s tutoring and homework help option, you can expect to pay a minimum of $50 per session. If you choose one of its ACT or SAT test preparation options, expect to pay upwards of $900 per class. Meanwhile, if you choose one of its camps, expect to pay a minimum of $200 per camp.

Payment Options
Sylvan Learning Center offers different payment plans that allow you to either pay monthly or upfront, depending on your budget. Flexible payment plans are available. Families can pay per session (pay-as-you-go) or choose a prepaid package for a discount. Many centers allow monthly billing over time. Accepted payment methods usually include credit card, check, or even financing plans.
Additional Fees
In addition to hourly rates, some Sylvan locations charge extra fees. Many centers impose an enrollment or membership fee (sometimes over $100). One sample franchise introduced a $1,499 “Club Sylvan” membership, refundable only if canceled within 30 days (minus a $95 processing fee). There may also be “hold” fees (e.g. $50/month) for pausing lessons.
