NCAA 25: Enhancing the Road to Glory Experience and Dynasty Mode
College football enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the release of NCAA 25, with particular excitement surrounding the return of the beloved Dynasty Mode and the potential improvements to Road to Glory. This article delves into the enhancements planned for these modes, drawing on insights from the developers and community feedback.
Dynasty Mode: Building a Legacy
The developers of College Football 26 envision Dynasty Mode as a multi-year project, focusing on three core pillars: building your coach, building your program, and delivering the world of college football. College Football 26 represents Year 2 of that vision - a year focused on building on the foundation we set and adding meaningful depth to each pillar.
Building Your Coach
At the heart of Dynasty Mode lies the coach, and College Football 26 emphasizes the unique journey each coach undertakes. Players can choose to create their own coach or step into the shoes of one of over 300 authentic, real-life head coaches and coordinators. When you play them on Saturday’s, you can expect their playcalling and tendencies to match their real world counterpart, adding a new layer of immersion. Customization options have been expanded, allowing players to personalize their coach's appearance with new gear, demeanor, and stance.
The RPG archetype-based abilities and progression system ensures that no coach can excel at everything. How you build your coach and manage your staff matters. Your coordinators either complement your strengths or shore up your deficiencies. The maximum coach level has been increased from 50 to 100, and the XP system has been rebalanced to provide a more gradual and rewarding progression. Progression is heavily influenced by your active archetype’s perk, and we’ve rebalanced all archetype perks to improve overall balance and create more distinct trade-offs.
The three base archetypes - Recruiter, Motivator, and Tactician - now require a minimum coach level to unlock, encouraging focused investment early in your career. Archetype costs now scale, making choices more meaningful as your coaching journey evolves. It’s always easier to learn a new skillset when you’re working alongside someone who’s already mastered it. With dynamic dealbreakers, the addition…

Building Your Program
Recruiting remains the lifeblood of college football, and Dynasty Mode emphasizes the importance of building a roster that can reload rather than rebuild. In modern College Football roster retention and utilizing the Transfer Portal are instrumental in your ability to field a championship team. The transfer portal continues to grow and evolve, becoming an even bigger force in shaping programs across the country.
College Football 26 aims to capture the unpredictability of the modern transfer portal, forcing players to make tough decisions about team retention, roster construction, and win-now urgency. The transfer portal isn’t just a mechanic - it’s a philosophical choice. Do you build for the future with high school talent, or lean into immediate-impact veterans from the portal? It’s a real-world debate playing out across college football.
Each player now has a dealbreaker, giving each one a clearly defined expectation and a chance to enter the portal if that expectation isn’t met. We’ve also refined how the Playing Time dealbreaker works to better reflect the realities of roster management. Even if Playing Time isn’t a player’s official dealbreaker, it can still be a deciding factor in whether or not they stay.
Dynamic Dealbreakers have been introduced, reflecting a player's evolving expectations over time. This makes it more difficult for some schools to meet those rising demands, and often results in players organically transferring as their goals outgrow their current situation. A school that once felt like a great fit may suddenly feel mid.
Delivering the World of College Football
The college football landscape is constantly evolving, and College Football 26 reflects this with custom conferences, scheduling, protected opponents, and playoff structure. College Football 26 represents Year 2 of that vision - a year focused on building on the foundation we set and adding meaningful depth to each pillar.

Legacy and Accomplishments
Every great Dynasty leaves behind a legacy - now you have a place to showcase it. The Trophy Room serves as a central hub for tracking championships, rivalries, and awards earned throughout your coaching journey. As you play through Dynasty, every time you win a rivalry game, bowl game, conference championship, national championship, or earn an individual award, you will receive a notification and the trophy will be added to your Trophy Room.
Road to Glory: A Path to Stardom
Following its introduction in NCAA Football 10, Road to Glory received a significant improvements in NCAA 12. Road to Glory allows players to create their own high school athlete and guide them through their college career, with the ultimate goal of reaching the NFL. Feedback suggests that players want a more immersive and personalized experience in Road to Glory.
Potential Improvements
Several suggestions have been made to enhance Road to Glory, including:
- More Personality: Allowing players to shape their athlete's personality through dialogue choices and actions.
- Long-Term Progression: Expanding the mode to offer a more long-term progression system, similar to those found in NBA 2K and MLB The Show, but tailored to college football.
Online Dynasty Integration
One interesting concept is integrating Road to Glory with Online Dynasty, allowing multiple users to play on the same team. Combining elements of Online Dynasty and Madden NFL’s Online Team Play, this would allow multiple users to play on the same team in Online Dynasty. This could involve creating a "clan" of players who have access to the squad or allowing players to take on specific roles, such as offensive or defensive coordinator, within the coaching carousel structure.
