These scholarships not only provide financial assistance but also offer invaluable opportunities for networking, learning, and professional development.

Detailed Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for an IFMA Foundation scholarship, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. These requirements ensure that the scholarship supports students who are genuinely committed to pursuing a career in facility management and have demonstrated academic excellence in their chosen field.

Enrollment in an Accredited Institution

Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university that is accredited by a recognized accrediting body for institutions of higher education at the time of application. This ensures that the students are receiving a quality education that meets industry standards. Furthermore, applicants must be enrolled at an accredited institution for a Facility Management or related field. “Degree” (Associate, Bachelor, and Graduate) is determined by your institution at the time of application submission.

Program of Study

At the time of application, students must be enrolled in a facilities management program, facilities management specialization, or closely adjacent program. Examples of closely adjacent programs include construction management, architecture, engineering, hospitality, business management, interior design, environmental studies, or real estate management. The program recognizes that FM principles are applicable across various disciplines and encourages students from related fields to apply. Other programs of study may apply if students demonstrate a pursued interest in facility management through course selection, projects, and/or experience.

Grade Point Average (GPA)

Applicants must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 in FM or related courses. This requirement underscores the importance of academic achievement and ensures that scholarship recipients are dedicated to their studies. For international students, equivalent documentation of academic achievement level equivalent to a 3.2 GPA is required. Resources such as International Grade Equivalencies or Dutch Grade Equivalencies can be used as a basis to determine eligibility.

Attendance at World Workplace Conference & Expo

Applicants awarded a scholarship are required to attend IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo and participate in the IFMA Foundation activities. This event provides a unique opportunity for scholarship recipients to network with industry professionals, attend educational sessions, and gain insights into the latest trends and technologies in facility management. Scholarship recipients receive subsidized attendance for IFMA’s World Workplace 2026 Conference & Expo in Anaheim, California, USA. The World Workplace Student Experience is a phenomenal opportunity to connect, learn, and get involved. Attendance and on-site participation are required of scholarship recipients; so, please ensure your availability 16-20 November 2026.

Additional Considerations

The IFMA Foundation encourages applications from working students and veterans, recognizing the valuable experience and perspectives they bring to the field of facility management.

Scholarship Renewal

All Foundation scholarships are annual (1-year) scholarships. Students may receive a scholarship up to two times over the course of their academic career but must apply again in order to receive a second scholarship. Foundation scholarships do not automatically renew.
