Infinite Campus Dekalb Student Guide: A Comprehensive Resource
Infinite Campus is a widely used student information system (SIS) that helps manage student data, track academic progress, and facilitate communication between schools, students, and parents. This guide provides essential information for students and parents in the Dekalb County School District (DCSD) on how to effectively use Infinite Campus.
Logging In: Accessing Your Account
Accessing your Infinite Campus account is the first step to staying informed about your academic progress and school-related information. You can log in through the Campus Parent and Campus Student mobile apps or through a web browser.
Step-by-Step Login Instructions
Locate Your District: Search for your district on the Infinite Campus login page.
Select Parent/Student Button: Click the "Parent/Student" button next to your district's name.
Existing Users: Enter your username and password.

New Users: If you are a new user and have an activation key:
- Click "New User" at the bottom of the login screen.
- Enter the activation key provided by your district. If you do not have an activation key, contact your district to obtain one, as Infinite Campus does not have this information.
Resolving Login Issues
- Username or Password Issues: If you've forgotten your username or password, your school can reset it or create a new account for you. Alternatively, visit Campus Student or Campus Parent (Web Portal or Mobile App) and click “Forgot your password/username." If these options are unavailable, your district may have disabled this feature.
- Captcha: If you fail to enter your username and password correctly multiple times, a CAPTCHA will appear. Enter your username, password, and the CAPTCHA to proceed.
Troubleshooting Common Errors
Encountering errors while using Infinite Campus can be frustrating. Here are some common issues and how to resolve them:
- Connection Error:
- Check your internet connection to ensure it is stable.
- Verify that your district's Web Portal is not experiencing downtime.
- If the error persists, try reinstalling the app.
- App Menu Items Turned Off: Schools often disable certain app features during breaks or grading periods. If you find that some menu items are unavailable, this is likely the reason.
Understanding Notifications
Stay updated on important announcements and information through notifications available on the Campus Student and Campus Parent mobile apps, provided they are enabled by your school.
Managing Family Accounts
Accessing Information for All Your Children
- Correct Account Type: Parents should use Campus Parent, while students should use Campus Student. This ensures that the relationships between parents and children are correctly connected. If you are a parent using a student account, ask your school for your own Campus Parent account.
- Portal Setting Activation: The relationship between you and your child in Campus must be set up to include Portal access. Contact your school to ensure this setting is turned on, as they manage this setting.
Linking Multiple Accounts
Infinite Campus allows parents and students with accounts in multiple districts to link them for easier access.
Availability: Account linking is available in all states EXCEPT Hawaii, Nevada, and some districts in Ohio and Michigan.
