Jackson County Schools Summer Learning Programs: A Comprehensive Guide

Jackson County Schools are committed to providing enriching summer learning experiences for students of all ages. Elementary Summer School Programs

Jackson County Schools offer summer school programs at each of its elementary schools. These programs are designed to provide continued learning opportunities throughout the summer months.

East Elementary Summer School

Students who attend East Elementary during the regular school year will attend East Elementary Summer School. To enroll your child, please complete the East SS Elementary Enrollment Form.

Orchard Elementary Summer School

Students who attend Orchard Elementary during the regular school year will attend Orchard Summer School. To enroll your child, please complete the Orchard SS Elementary Enrollment form. July Camp Kids’ Club will be hosted at Orchard Elementary, June 23-August 1, 2025 (closed July 4).

South Elementary Summer School

Students who attend South Elementary during the regular school year will attend South Elementary Summer School. To enroll your child, please complete the South SS Elementary Enrollment form.

West Lane Elementary Summer School

Students who attend West Lane Elementary during the regular school year will attend West Lane Summer School. To enroll your child, please complete the West Lane SS Elementary Enrollment form.

Enrollment for Non-Jackson R2 Students

If your child is not currently enrolled in Jackson R2 schools but you wish for them to participate in the Summer School program, please click this link. Your child will attend the school based on your address’s attendance area or the school assigned by the district.

Program Details for Elementary Students (Incoming Kindergarten - Fourth Grade)

Summer school programs are available for incoming kindergarten through fourth-grade students. These students will be provided with both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast costs $1.85, and lunch costs $3.00. Parents can drop off their students starting at 7:30 AM.

Summer School Kids’ Club Program

For families needing additional childcare after the summer school day, the Summer School Kids’ Club program will be available from May 27 to June 17, from 3:10 PM to 5:45 PM.

July Camp Kids’ Club

If you are interested in childcare that extends beyond the initial Summer School Kids’ Club program, the July Camp Kids’ Club will be hosted at Orchard Elementary from June 23 to August 1, 2025. Please note that the camp will be closed on July 4.

Childcare for 3-4 Year Olds

Need childcare for your 3-4 year old while your elementary student attends summer school? Jackson County Schools also recognizes the needs of families with younger children. Information regarding childcare options for 3-4 year olds while their older siblings attend summer school will be available. Please contact the school district for further details.
