Keiser University, renowned for its athletic prowess, boasts a rich history across various sports. While the university has achieved significant recognition in sports such as women's golf, men's and women's soccer, swimming, and wrestling, a detailed account of its basketball program's history provides a comprehensive view of the university's athletic evolution.
A Legacy of Athletic Achievement
Keiser University's athletic program has garnered national acclaim through the achievements of its various teams. The Seahawks Women's golf team have won four NAIA Women's Golf National Championships (2003, 2015, 2016, 2021). Both the Seahawks Men's and Women's soccer teams have won national championships. The Women's soccer team won back-to-back national championships in 2019 and 2020. These victories underscore the university's commitment to athletic excellence and its ability to cultivate championship-caliber teams.
The Inaugural Year of Men's Wrestling
The 2019-20 season marked the inaugural year of the Keiser men's wrestling team. Keiser University's decision to add wrestling demonstrates its ongoing investment in expanding its athletic offerings and providing opportunities for student-athletes to compete in a diverse range of sports. Bertolone was named to lead the Inaugural Keiser Wrestling Program in 2019.
Expansion into Competitive Cheer and Dance
Keiser University's athletic program expanded to include competitive cheer and competitive dance. This marked the first time Keiser competed at the national level in both competitive cheer and competitive dance collegiate events.
