As Dr. Jill Murray, President of Lackawanna College, stated, "Our student portal has a wealth of student resources including information about courses, advising, financial aid, graduation, wellness and other support services. The portal is a good one-stop shop that can be a starting point for obtaining vital information." New students will need to activate their portal accounts to gain access.

Financial Information: Tuition, Fees, and Payment Plans

The College requires that all tuition and fees be paid in full or alternate arrangements made prior to classes beginning in any semester or term. A tuition payment plan is available from the Office of Student Financial Services to any student who qualifies.

Payment Options

The Office of Student Financial Services accepts cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Credit card and electronic check payments may be made online using the Student Portal.

Monthly Automatic Payment Plans

Lackawanna College offers an interest-free monthly auto payment plan to all students who qualify. To sign up for a payment plan, access payment plan options and information through the Student Portal.

Employer Deferment

Payment of tuition may be deferred if the student has provided a completed Employer Deferment Form signed by the student’s employer.

Consequences of Outstanding Balances

Grades and/or transcripts will not be released to students who have outstanding balances. Students with an outstanding balance will also not be able to participate in commencement ceremonies. Registration for subsequent semesters is blocked for students with unpaid balances or who are delinquent on the payment plan. Lackawanna College also reserves the right to forward unpaid balances to our contracted collection agency or dismiss any students who do not adhere to scheduled payments or who attend classes without satisfying financial obligations.

Campus Safety and Security

Lackawanna College is an urban campus located in Scranton, PA. Our Public Safety office publishes yearly reports about security and fire safety, and crime statistics in accordance with the Clery Act. Public Safety also complies with Title IX’s requirements for awareness and policies and procedures.

Lackawanna College is approved by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education to grant bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, and professional certificates.

Lackawanna College is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission). The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status in August 2025 was to approve the College’s substantive change request to include additional locations at 105 Wilson Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601, 3184 Airport Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017, and 1669 Opportunity Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201 within the institution’s scope of accreditation. The United States Department of Education (USDE) recognizes accrediting agencies deemed authorities on the quality of higher education.

Transfer Credits and State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Incoming and current Lackawanna College students can transfer certain credits to our institution. The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) is an agreement among member states, districts, and territories in the United States, which establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. It is intended to simplify the process of taking online courses for credit offered by postsecondary institutions based in another state.
