Understanding La Salle Academy Tuition and Financial Aid Options

La Salle Academy, rich in history and grounded in the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic faith, provides a rigorous and holistic education to students of diverse backgrounds. The Academy offers education from middle school to high school. Understanding the tuition costs associated with La Salle Academy and the available financial aid options is crucial for families considering enrolling their children. This article will break down the tuition structure, payment plans, and financial aid opportunities available, aiding families in making informed decisions.

Tuition Costs and Payment Plans

The tuition costs outlined below pertain to the 2026-27 academic year. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the tuition is $15,400. All families are required to register with FACTS Tuition Management to manage their tuition payments. FACTS offers various payment options, including invoice and automatic payment plans, with one, two, ten, and eleven installment options.

Here's a breakdown of the tuition and payment options for the 2026-2027 academic year:

  • Full Tuition: \$18,650
  • Full Tuition Less Average Aid: \$10,975 (This is an illustrative figure based on the average aid received and may not reflect individual circumstances.)

Payment Schedule Options:

Merit-Based Scholarships

La Salle Academy offers over \$100,000 in merit-based scholarships each year to top academic applicants for the 9th grade. Eligibility for these scholarships is determined based on the performance on the placement exam. Eligible students are then reviewed based on their academic performance throughout middle school, recommendations from current teachers, and overall aptitude for success at La Salle.

Need-Based Tuition Assistance

Need-based tuition assistance is available to all students in grades 9 through 12. Interested families must submit an application through FACTS Tuition Management. The FACTS application considers various factors, including household income, family size, region, housing costs, auto expenses, and healthcare costs, to determine a recommended calculated award.

The La Salle Financial Assistance Committee reviews the application and calculated award amount, assessing both quantitative and qualitative components, to make a final award determination. The application process takes approximately 1 hour to complete once all supporting documents have been gathered. No application will be reviewed without all supporting documentation.

A direct and secure IRS integration is now available for submitting tax documentation, which can expedite the process. Families must submit a financial aid application each year. Late applications are reviewed on a rolling basis after the initial application deadline, subject to the availability of funding. While every effort is made to maintain the same award level between years, an application must still be submitted annually. There are no set income levels required to apply for financial aid, as the review process is highly individualized, considering all factors within the application.

Important Considerations for Financial Aid Applications

  • Ensure all forms of household income are accurately included on the application.
  • The Financial Aid Committee focuses on essential family expenses and does not issue financial aid to subsidize non-essential personal lifestyle decisions.
  • If application documents show no ability to contribute toward tuition, the review process will be delayed until the Committee can fully understand the family's unique financial situation.
  • La Salle Academy does not offer full financial aid (or full-tuition awards) using institutional funds. The school's policy is built on the principle of shared responsibility.

External Financial Aid Resources

While La Salle Academy provides direct financial aid, some third-party organizations offer assistance to students attending the academy. The largest source of such assistance comes from various parishes throughout the state. These organizations have their own application processes and qualifications, which La Salle Academy is not involved with. One such organization is Student Sponsor Partners (SSP), which provides financial assistance to students throughout NYC. SSP pairs students with sponsors and mentors who offer financial support and one-to-one mentoring. This program is only eligible to incoming freshmen.

However, the primary responsibility of financing a student’s private education rests with the family.

The financial aid application for the 2026-2027 school year will open October 1, 2025. Returning families must apply for financial aid every year. Priority application deadline for incoming freshmen closes on January 5, 2026 and on March 1, 2026 for returning families.

Financial Assistance decisions are made ONLY on completed AND verified financial assistance applications received by deadline. All information related to the parents’ financial circumstances will be treated confidentially.

De La Salle Institute utilizes FACTS to determine a family’s financial need.
