Learn Together Lowcountry: A Thriving Homeschool Hub in Bluffton
Learn Together Lowcountry (LTL) is a homeschool hub and co-op serving Bluffton and the Lowcountry. What began in 2018 with a few Bluffton families has grown into a thriving community with over 250 co-op students, 120+ families, and 1,500+ annual participants. LTL operates through the not-for-profit Grace Coastal Church. LTL is more than just a Friday co-op, offering a variety of programs and events to support homeschooling families.
A True Homeschool Cooperative
Learn Together Lowcountry is a true homeschool cooperative where parents work together to offer homeschool classes with a hands-on learning environment in order to provide options that are group or expertise-oriented. Parents work together to offer homeschool classes with a hands-on learning environment in order to provide expertise-oriented group instruction but remain privately responsible for their children’s education.
Programs and Classes
LTL offers a variety of programs and classes to meet the needs of homeschooling families, including:
- Friday Co-op: Elective classes are offered on Fridays at Grace Coastal Church. The Friday co-op runs for 24 weeks from August to May.
- LTL Plus: Thursday core classes through LTL Plus offer a well-rounded curriculum in History, Science, and Literature/Composition, giving families a structured yet flexible foundation for homeschooling. LTL Plus classes are on 34 Thursday mornings. Unlike Friday LTL days, LTL Plus is only partially an à la carte program; each student participates in all three subjects of science, history, and English (high school includes math). Families may add-on fitness for grades 2nd-7th and add math for 8th grade. Math can also be taken al la carte if a student doesn’t take the regular program. Classrooms are grouped into three age levels spanning ages 7-9, 10-11, and 12-14.
- Legacies Homeschool Association: LTL provides support through Legacies Homeschool Association.
- Tutoring: LTL offers group instruction and private tutoring for homeschoolers on twelve Fridays each fall and spring (September - December and January - April). Middle and high school teachers offer assistance with class credits. LTL is excited to offer tutoring at nearly every level, with sessions available throughout the day. Additional tutoring subjects may be available upon request and subject to availability. Private lessons allow your student to receive one-on-one instruction, which is vital to improving their skill level quickly. The teacher can closely observe hand positions, fingerings, specific patterns, and learning styles. The first lesson will assess what books are needed.
Events and Activities
LTL hosts 50+ annual events, from academic showcases to field trips. Homeschool classes, workshops, nursery, playtime opportunities, bible instruction, and special events are offered for local homeschooled children, ages 0-19. LTL also offers private tutoring and music lessons.
