The LPA met with co-director Janeth Carachure, who provided a tour of the facility, both inside and out. At the time of the inspection, there were fifty-nine children and nine staff members present.

The investigation stemmed from an allegation that a child at the day care was injured by another child. The director provided the LPA with a copy of the internal incident report, parent handbook, and other relevant documents. The incident occurred on January 13th, 2023, when two children were playing chase outdoors. One child (C1) scratched another child (C2) on the face and then bit C2 on the back. Staff witnessed the incident, separated the children, and redirected them. The children later returned to normal play.
According to the handbook protocol, the staff contacted both children’s parents, informing them of the incident, and created an internal report. C1 was sent home and placed on a behavioral plan. The facility co-director reported the incident to Community Care Licensing (CCL) in a timely manner, as required by regulation.
