Learning Ladder Preschool Curriculum: Nurturing Growth and Preparing for Kindergarten
The Learning Ladder Preschool curriculum is designed to foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development in children ages 3-5 years old. It aims to enhance learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts. With a focus on creating a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, the curriculum is structured to cater to the curious minds of young learners, preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.
Theme-Based Learning
Learning Ladder Academy utilizes a weekly theme-based curriculum. This approach allows teachers to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children of all backgrounds and skill levels. The curriculum is constantly adapted to match the interests of the students, making learning engaging and relevant.
Developmentally Appropriate Activities
At Learning Ladder Preschool, the emphasis is on developmentally appropriate activities. This means that the activities are designed to be suitable for the age and developmental stage of the children. The goal is to provide experiences that are challenging yet achievable, fostering a sense of accomplishment and encouraging further exploration.
Curriculum Structure
The curriculum is structured to provide a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated learning. This means that there are times when the teacher leads the activities, providing instruction and guidance. There are also times when the children are free to explore and learn on their own, following their interests and curiosity.
Preparing for Kindergarten
The Pre-K program at Learning Ladder Academy has a curriculum matching those of many of the surrounding schools to ensure that children are ready for kindergarten. Children in the Pre-K program explore various concepts, striving to reach the mastery level before entering kindergarten.
