The center's teachers are committed to educational goals of excellence, providing education in a safe and loving environment. Learning Lodge West employs a blended approach that emphasizes a rich learning environment where children are encouraged to explore with student-led activities, as well as gain skills through teacher-led academic instruction.
Programs Offered
Learning Lodge West offers a variety of programs to cater to different age groups and needs:
- Infant Care (6 weeks and older): Infant and Toddler care consists of individualized eating and sleeping plans with physical development supports like cuddling, tummy time, and a ballet bar for pulling-up practice. They also offer sign language (ASL) activities, sensory art projects, music exploration, and the encouragement of friendships for social development.
- Toddler and Two-Year-Old Programs: As children enter the two- and early-three-year-old stages, the depth of educational activities, creative arts, and physical support also increases.
- Preschool (3-4 years): Learning Lodge West has two preschool classrooms for children aged 3-4 years.
- Kindergarten Prep (4-5 years): Two Kindergarten Prep classrooms are available for children aged 4-5 years.
- School-Age Programs (5-12 years): Learning Lodge West offers before/after care and summer camps for school-age students attending elementary school. They help families when the elementary schools are closed (late starts, early releases, snow days, PD days and summer).

- Social-emotional teaching
Each morning starts with a group activity we call circle time, where children are welcomed and the day’s activities are explained. The classrooms are designed with early learning in mind, so you’ll see the room set up with a variety of learning centers, a library, and a dramatic play area.
Daily Schedule and Activities
Depending on the age of the child, the classroom daily schedule may vary slightly. However, a typical day includes a balance of structured learning and free play.
The school-age students enrichment programming includes physical education, music classes and sign language.
Parent Communication and Assessment
Learning Lodge West values communication with parents and provides regular updates on their child's progress. For students six weeks through Kinder Prep, they include parent-teacher conferences in the Fall and Spring where teachers share student growth and achievements. Teachers track milestones and collect child's work that you'll take home each year in a portfolio. Creating these portfolios are fun for us, but a lasting keepsake for you!
