Upon enrollment at LMU, every student, whether pursuing a degree or not, receives a unique nine-digit University I.D. number. During your initial course enrollment, the registration system might assign a temporary I.D. starting with the letters “LM.” Note that this is not your official University I.D. It is a temporary placeholder used while your student account is being created within the university's active directory. You can always check again by going to my.lmu.edu and selecting “Account Lookup” under the Log In button.

To access the myLMU portal, follow these steps:

Enter your username and password in the designated fields.
- The username is generally formatted as firstname.lastname. For example, Jane Doe's username would be jane.doe. In instances where multiple individuals share the same first and last name, a number will be appended to the username (e.g., jane.doe24).
If you have forgotten your username, you can retrieve it by clicking on the "Account Lookup" option located under the login button on the myLMU login page.

Initial Login and Password Setup

For new users, the initial password is: Upper Case of the first initial of your last name + Lower Case of the first initial of your first name + hashtag + 4 zeros + last 5 digits of your 9 digit University ID (e.g. Dj#000054321).

The temporary password is now set to capital LMU, then the first letter of your last name followed by your 8-digit date of birth. For example, if Jane Doe was born on January 5th, 1985, the password would be LMUd01051985. If your birth date is not on file, a randomly generated PIN was created. Contact the helpdesk at 423.869.7411 to resolve this.

Duo Authentication

After setting up your account, you will need to configure Duo authentication. This multi-factor authentication service adds an extra layer of security to protect your applications, including myLMU.

My To Do

This section provides a list of your personal tasks. You can manage these tasks in the same way you manage your personal calendar entries by accessing your Outlook Web Access and selecting the Tasks list.

Alert Me

From any list item (announcement, news, or event), clicking "Alert Me" allows you to customize your notification preferences.
