Founded in 1969, MRA holds a religious affiliation listed as other religious and offers a regular elementary and secondary program. This article delves into the tuition structure, financial aid opportunities, and the overall experience of attending Madison Ridgeland Academy.
A Flourishing Academy
MRA is experiencing significant growth in student numbers and accolades. The academy is achieving new heights in academic honors, athletic championships, and extra-curricular opportunities. MRA prides itself on building upon its history and traditions while embracing the achievements of the present and the possibilities of the future.
Academic Excellence and College Preparation
MRA seniors consistently receive top scholarships to prestigious universities across the country. These scholarship offers highlight the strong academics at MRA and demonstrate how the academy prepares students for the competitive college application process by building well-rounded resumes. While MRA is the largest independent school in Mississippi, its small class sizes enable a personal approach, ensuring that every learning style and personality can flourish.
Tuition and Fees
The annual tuition for Madison Ridgeland Academy is $12,810, aligning with private school tuition rates in the Madison area. In addition to tuition, there are other fees to consider. A non-refundable registration fee is required for all students. Families with children entering grades 1-12 for the first time are required to pay a membership fee of $1,000.00. For families with children entering grades 1-4, this membership fee can be paid in two installments with the first installment of $500.00 due in full by August 1, 2026 or monthly following the tuition payment plan you select. These membership fees are also non-refundable. Tuition for all after school care programs, with the exception of Drop-In Lunchbunch, can be paid in full, semi-annually, or monthly based off the tuition payment plan selected.
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
MRA believes that qualified students who desire an education at the academy should not be turned away because they cannot afford full tuition. To address this, MRA has established a Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) to help families in need. TAP assists students with financial need who demonstrate leadership ability, academic excellence, and strong character. Tuition assistance is awarded strictly based on need in a confidential process, and MRA does not offer any athletic scholarships.

MRA works with School and Student Services (SSS) to process financial aid applications. SSS provides an estimated amount that a family should be able to contribute toward educational expenses based on the financial information provided in the Parents' Financial Statement. This estimate serves as a starting point for MRA to make fair and objective financial aid decisions. The Tuition Assistance Application process must be completed each year.
Experiencing the MRA Culture
MRA encourages prospective families to visit the school, walk the halls, and meet with students, faculty, and administrators. These tours are offered every school day throughout the year, including the summer months. Individual, personalized tours allow MRA to address specific questions and concerns about a child's interests and needs while providing a glimpse of the learning environment and opportunities available.
During a tour, visitors can expect to:
- See attentive students and teachers engaged in learning.
- Notice a sense of order and structure alongside energy and enthusiasm.
