These programs cater to various educational goals, from career-focused training to dual enrollment opportunities for high school students and specialized programs for students with intellectual disabilities.
Career Certificate Programs: A Direct Path to Employment
Unlike a four-year college, technical education at Fred K. Marchman Technical College focuses solely on preparing students for a specific career. The programs emphasize hands-on training within the student's chosen field. Many programs feature labs that simulate real workplace settings, giving students practical experience. This career-focused approach ensures graduates possess the skills and experience employers seek.
Dual Enrollment: Accelerating Academic and Career Goals
The dual enrollment program offers high school students the opportunity to take challenging college-level coursework, preparing them for college, a future career, and life in general. Students simultaneously earn credit toward both high school graduation and a post-secondary certificate.
Fred K. Marchman Technical College offers eight Career Certificate Programs and two Secondary Programs specifically for high school students in dual enrollment. To participate, prospective students must complete a School Choice application through Pasco Pathways to Wendell Krinn Technical High School. Admission is contingent upon seat availability and a review of the student's academic, attendance, and discipline records. Accepted students attend Wendell Krinn Technical High School for their academic courses and are dually enrolled at Fred K. Marchman Technical College for their career-focused training.
Career Dual Enrollment students attend their Career Certificate Program for three periods a day and receive three grades. This program offers financial benefits, including free tuition and textbooks, and can shorten the time required to complete adult programs should students choose to return for further training.

Home-schooled students and those attending private schools are also eligible to apply for Dual Enrollment programs. Eleventh and twelfth-grade students enrolled in the program benefit from an extended three-period coursework schedule, allowing for more intensive hands-on learning. Furthermore, high school students have the opportunity to earn Industry Certifications in each program.
Pasco County Schools maintains a policy of non-discrimination based on race, color, sex/gender, religion, national origin, marital status, disability, age, or genetic information in its educational programs, services, activities, and employment practices. The District provides reasonable accommodations, including substitutions, for students with hearing impairments, visual impairments, dyslexia, or specific learning disabilities when these disabilities affect their ability to meet program requirements. To receive accommodations, students must provide documentation of their disability to the Special Populations Coordinator.
Programs offered in January 2026 (subject to availability) require prospective students to schedule a tour and informational meeting with the Admissions Advisor as a first step. The application window opens September 8th at 4:00pm.
Phoenix RISE: An Inclusive Postsecondary Program
Phoenix RISE is a specialized postsecondary program designed for students with intellectual disabilities. The program is divided into two stages.
Stage One: This stage focuses on building essential life skills and career readiness through a Specialized Career Instruction - Comprehensive course. The curriculum covers financial literacy, time management, and soft skills, and provides students with opportunities to earn industry certifications. Students are also introduced to the various Career Certificate options available at Fred K. Marchman Technical College. To complete Stage One, students must obtain at least one of the specified certifications.

Stage Two: Upon completion of Stage One, students can either exit the program to pursue employment or advance to Stage Two. To be eligible for Stage Two, students must self-identify and provide documentation of an intellectual disability, such as an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or documentation from a medical professional.
To be considered a program completer in Stage Two, students must earn or complete at least one Occupational Completion Point (OCP) within their chosen Career Certificate Program. While completing the entire career certificate program is encouraged, it is not mandatory for program completion.
