Maria Regina High School: Tuition, Financial Aid, and Educational Opportunities

Maria Regina High School (MRS) is dedicated to providing a Catholic education rooted in moral values and doctrine, fostering a community where students are faith-filled, academically prepared, and socially responsible. The school aims to create lifelong learners who respect themselves, others, and the world around them, all within a safe and nurturing environment conducive to academic and spiritual growth.

Admissions and Enrollment

Prospective students and their families are encouraged to schedule a tour of the school and, where possible, sit in on classes. This provides an initial glimpse into the Maria Regina experience. The school provides a rigorous college preparatory program requiring successful completion of a four-year course of study, totaling at least 26 credits. The curriculum includes four years of mathematics, English, social studies, and theology; three years of science and a foreign language; and one year of art and music. Many students opt to take four years of science and a foreign language, and more than one year of art. Physical education and health are also graduation requirements.

Registration for currently enrolled students takes place in February, with re-registration packets due in March along with required fees. No student may return to Maria Regina in September if the previous year’s tuition is unpaid.

Tuition and Fees

For the 2025-2026 school year, the tuition and fees are $16,350. This investment supports a high-quality, college-preparatory education and a variety of programs, including enhanced cybersecurity and online testing resources, library and research materials, and new courses. Students in all grades (9-12) are required to participate in the Macbook program for an additional fee of $300, spread out over the 11-month payment schedule.

Tuition payments should be made directly to FACTS Management Company, not to the school. There is an annual enrollment fee of $65.00 per student with FACTS. Grades 9 through 11 follow an 11-month payment plan, with tuition due each month from July through May. Grade 12 is on a 10-month payment plan, with tuition due from July through April. A $40.00 service charge is applied to tuition payments that are late or less than the full monthly amount.

Failure to meet financial obligations may result in consequences such as:

No field trips or overnight trips
No report card
No transfer of school records
No Junior Prom attendance
Not permitted to final exams
No cap and gown
Possible suspension from athletic events
No diploma
No transcripts forwarded to colleges
No graduation participation
No Senior Prom attendance

If a student’s account is in arrears before the start of the second semester, she may be asked to withdraw from Maria Regina.

Tuition Refund Policy

Upon withdrawal from Maria Regina, any tuition paid for subsequent months will be refunded 1 month tuition. Monthly tuition payments must be satisfied through the student’s last date of attendance.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Maria Regina High School is committed to making Catholic education accessible to students of all backgrounds. Financial aid is available to students based on need, and the application is accessible through the FACTS account.

Financial Aid Application

To apply for financial aid, a FACTS account must be created. The application for incoming grade 9 students for the 2026-2027 school year opens on January 23, 2026, and closes on February 27, 2026.

Scholarship Opportunities

Several scholarship opportunities are available to help students finance their education at Maria Regina:

Sibling Discount: A $1,000 sibling discount is credited to the older daughter’s tuition account.
Catholic School Employee Discount: Parents and/or guardians who are Catholic school teachers or administrators may be eligible for a $1,500 discount for participating schools.
Inner-City Scholarship Fund: Inner-City scholarships may be available to qualifying students with demonstrable financial need. Applicants should contact the Inner-City Scholarship Fund as soon as possible to determine eligibility. Students already receiving assistance from Inner-City should have their current school notify them of their intention to attend Maria Regina High School.
CCF Scholarships: The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) provides scholarships to students who qualify based on family income. Since 1984, the CCF has provided scholarships to deserving Italian American students. Eligibility requirements include:
- Applicants must be entering their first year in high school.
- Applicants must be of at least 25% Italian heritage.
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 or 88%.
Merit Scholarships: Merit Scholarships (varying dollar amounts) are awarded on the basis of TACHS scores, academic excellence, and an interview with the Admissions Committee in January. Only students who take the TACHS exam are eligible for merit scholarships. Students eligible for a merit scholarship are notified in their acceptance letters.
Legacy Scholarships: Legacy Scholarships in the amount of $500 are awarded to daughters of MRHS alumnae who are applying for acceptance in 8th grade. Students will be notified about the legacy scholarship when they receive their acceptance letter. This scholarship is only offered during the time of acceptance for both 8th graders and transfers and is renewable yearly as long as the student remains in good academic standing.
TACHS Exam Scholarships: School admission is determined through the student's results on the TACHS test. The school offers several partial scholarships and one full scholarship, all of which are awarded based on the results of the TACHS examination. The highest scorers who put Maria Regina as their first choice receive the scholarships. For this scholarship to be renewed every year, the student must have an overall average greater than 90 percent at the end of each academic year.

Academic Programs and Opportunities

Maria Regina High School offers a range of academic programs and opportunities to enhance students' learning experiences:

Honors and AP Classes: Honors classes are available in all disciplines, except theology. AP classes are offered in subjects including biology, chemistry, English literature, American history, and European history.
College Link Program: The school sponsors the College Link Program, in which college courses offered at Iona College and St. Thomas Aquinas College can be taken by Maria Regina students.
Athletics: Maria Regina High School is an active member in the Catholic High School Athletic Association. Athletes are required to successfully complete and maintain the same courseload as other students.

Before and After School Programs

Maria Regina School offers before and after-school programs to support students and families:

Morning Daycare

Students are not allowed to arrive at school before 7:00 AM unless they are participating in the morning daycare program. Students in morning daycare must be escorted to the designated area and signed in by their parents. Weather permitting, these students are taken outside to join their schoolmates at or around 7:30 AM. Families choosing the monthly rate are obligated to begin payment at the beginning of September through the month of May. All families who have chosen to utilize the daycare services in June will be charged a pro-rated fee.

Afterschool Program

Daycare and homework payments are due by the 15th of each month. A $40.00 late fee is charged for payments received after the due date, and the family will not be allowed to participate in the Afterschool Program until the payment and late fee are paid in full. Daycare payments can be made via FACTS or directly in the school’s office. Checks should be made payable to Maria Regina School. Only families choosing the monthly payment rate option can receive a W9 for tax purposes.

Parents and students are required to observe all school policies, rules, and procedures, especially those that pertain to the after-school program. No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed during daycare; all cell phones must be turned into school/daycare personnel and retrieved when leaving.

Students must be signed out each day with an authorized adult signature and time. Maria Regina School provides a safe, secure, and supportive nurturing environment that focuses on each child’s abilities. The staff promotes a balanced, supportive, and active learning environment where children are encouraged to learn and discover, participate in activities, and try novel ideas while fostering critical thinking. The students will have the opportunity to start and/or complete homework assignments, play with friends, relax, and review math skills. This program provides an opportunity to work alone, in small groups, and in active quiet activities.

All students are expected to bring all of their needed supplies, including textbooks, paper, pencils, homework folder, assignment notebook, and other supplies. Students are also expected to bring their planners to homework club to show the staff and receive a signature upon the completion of the assignments. Students will not be allowed to return to their classroom for any items.

Goals of the Afterschool Program:

Get small group or one-on-one help with homework assignments
Improve students' math, reading, and language arts skills
Get homework done at school.
