Nurturing Potential: Exploring Programs at Mary Bobb Learning Academy
It seems that every early childhood center says that they provide children with a warm loving fun environment that focuses on the educational and physical development of each child. At Mary Bobb Learning Academy, we go a step further. The caregivers, teachers, and management believe that the artistic, cultural, and social development of each child is also essential. At Mary Bobb Learning we recognize and encourage the amazing potential children have to learn. Whether your child is "very active" or shy, our teachers will custom design activities that work best for them. If you feel that your toddler can benefit from a more stimulating environment, call us today to arrange a visit. At Mary Bobb Learning Academy, we proudly serve children through two main programs: our School Program for ages 2-5, which lays a strong foundation for early learning, and our After School Program for ages 6-9, which supports continued growth and enrichment beyond the school day. Mary Bobb Learning Academy’s curriculum focuses on the following learning domains to ensure your child develops the 4Cs - Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Developing these four skills will lead to learning independence and school readiness for your child.
Cultivating Early Learners: The School Program (Ages 2-5)
The School Program at Mary Bobb Learning Academy caters to children aged 2 to 5, establishing a strong foundation for early learning. This program is further divided to cater to specific needs and schedules, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience for all children.
Early Bird Program: A Head Start to the Day
What is most special about the Early Bird Program is the camaraderie that is formed among the children and staff. The small groups become very close-knit and enjoy day-to-day relationships. The Early-Bird Program caters to Pre-K students who arrive before 8 AM. The Early-Bird tuition is billed weekly.
Pre-School/Kindergarten Program: Nurturing Curiosity and Growth
The Pre-School/Kindergarten Program provides a warm and nurturing classroom environment where teachers capitalize on children's curiosity, creativity, and imagination. Our program facilitates children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development with an emphasis placed on building confidence and self-esteem. Children play and work together to build the development and pre-academic skills that will help them fulfill their potential as they move on to the elementary program. Both thematic units as well as an interactive alphabet curriculum help foster the children's thinking skills while they learn about the importance of being part of a classroom community. Music, Art, Physical Education, and Library time are incorporated into the students' weekly schedules and help build gross and fine motor skills as well as an ability to listen, share, and interact with one another. Teachers respect and celebrate children's unique learning styles and provide a teaching approach that best fits each child's individual needs. The end result is that our students come away with a rich classroom experience, new friends, and an understanding that learning is an exciting process.
Elementary Program: Igniting Curiosity and Achievement
The Elementary Program carefully preserves the joys of childhood while challenging children in age-appropriate ways. Teachers find the spark that will ignite each child's curiosity and sense of achievement. In grades 1 and 2, active learning continues to connect personal experience to the larger world. Children ask how things work; teachers ask, 'how did you solve that problem?' Faculty and staff recognize that children develop at different rates and posses personal learning styles. Students move along the continuum of learning with new concepts introduced at an appropriate pace. An integrated curriculum includes math, science, writing, language arts, music, physical education, library and computer classes.
