Out-of-State Exceptions

Award recipients may use this scholarship at an out-of-state school if their major is not available at any Maryland institution and if their legislator agrees. This provision allows students pursuing unique fields of study not offered within Maryland to still benefit from the scholarship. This scholarship cannot be used at an out-of-state school unless your major is not offered at a school in Maryland and is, therefore, considered ‘unique’ major.
