Dual Majors and Minors
Students wishing to pursue a dual major are encouraged to speak with an advisor as early as possible to determine the requirements and feasibility of completing both programs. Some majors require an intense credit load, perhaps making it difficult for a student to complete a second major in four years. These students may wish to choose to pursue a minor instead. Students declaring more than one major will only receive one degree/diploma. Students who are pursuing majors in a BA/BS, BA/BFA, or BS/BFA degree programs are required to choose one degree at the time they file their graduation application online.
Special Academic Opportunities
MMC provides a range of special academic opportunities to further enhance the learning experience:
- The College Honors Program: This program offers an advanced core curriculum and increased opportunities for independent study, catering to students with outstanding academic achievement.
- Pre-Professional Programs: Students interested in careers in medicine, law, or other health-related professions can pursue specialized courses that prepare them for advanced studies.

- AP Credit Policy: Students who have taken Advanced Placement examinations administered by the College Board, and who receive a score of 3, 4, or 5 will be awarded credit toward MMC degrees, either as specific course credits or as open elective credit; however, for certain AP exams, the score must be 4 or 5. (See table on next page for details.) Students must have the official score sheet sent to MMC. Eligibility will be determined and credit awarded to the student upon enrollment in the College.
A Glimpse into the MMC Experience
The following testimonials offer insights into the MMC academic experience:
- Drama Therapy: "Professor Connell worked closely with me on the revision of the Drama Therapy minor, at MMC. - Art History: "Each Art History course cultivated my understanding of multiple perspectives on art; each one encouraged me to explore the subjects and topics that fed my curiosity. For example, I was thrilled to be able to pursue my interest in Native American art and culture by studying objects first-hand in New York collections, especially in the Diker Collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art."
- Communication: "The Communication program offered me ample room for exploration, allowing me to combine my interests in media, gender, and sexuality studies to become both a critical media consumer and media producer."
