Structure and Organization

MMEA is divided into five districts, each with its own chair and executive board. Your district membership is determined by the location of the school district in which you teach. This decentralized structure allows MMEA to address the specific needs and interests of music educators in different regions of the state.

Each of the districts organizes honor ensemble festivals and general music events. A percentage of students who participate in district festivals are eligible to audition for All-State honors ensembles.

The Massachusetts Music Educators Journal (MMEJ)

The Massachusetts Music Educators Journal (MMEJ) serves as a platform for sharing insights, research, and best practices in music education. The journal's editorial board curates content that reflects the diverse perspectives and experiences of music educators across the state.
