On-Campus Residence Halls Available for Interns
Menlo College offers summer housing in three on-campus residence halls, each with its unique characteristics: John Arrillaga Hall, O'Brien Hall, and El Camino Hall.
John Arrillaga Hall
The John Arrillaga Residence Hall stands as the newest housing complex on campus. It is Menlo College’s first new building in nearly 45 years. This modern facility offers double-occupancy rooms spread over three floors, with lounges dedicated to both quiet study and socializing.
- Rooms: Furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, and wardrobe or dresser for each occupant.
- Bathrooms: Four communal bathrooms per floor, two per gender.
- Amenities: Complimentary shared laundry facilities, all utilities included, and access to Wi-Fi and in-room Ethernet.
O’Brien Hall
O’Brien Hall is a two-story residence hall situated under the iconic Menlo oak trees. O’Brien Hall is named after Richard F. O’Brien who succeeded William E. Kratt as President of Menlo College in the fall of 1971.

- Rooms: Furnished with a bed, desk, desk chair, and a wardrobe or dresser for each occupant.
- Bathrooms: Two gender-neutral communal restrooms in the hall, one on each floor.
- Amenities: Complimentary shared laundry facilities, all utilities included, access to Wi-Fi, and two common lounge areas (one on each floor).
El Camino Hall
El Camino Hall is nestled conveniently at the front of campus among beautiful maple trees and a rose garden. The El Camino dorm rooms primarily consist of small singles. This hall is gender-inclusive and offers convenient access to the El Camino Courtyard, which is often utilized by students as a study and relaxation area.
- Rooms: All rooms feature a bed, desk, wardrobe, set of drawers, and desk chair.

Basic Amenities
Each room is equipped with essential furniture:
- Bed (80 x 36 inches, twin extra-long)
- Desk

- Wardrobe or dresser
Students are expected to provide their own linens, but a set can be provided for the summer for $25. It is recommended for students to bring an alarm clock, study lamp, and wastebasket. Students may add posters, TVs, computers, etc., as deemed necessary.
Technology
- Internet: Free high-speed wireless internet access is available everywhere on campus. Access to high-speed wireless and wired Internet service is available in every room in the residence halls at no extra charge. When connecting to our wireless internet, students must use their Menlo user ID and password to access the campus WIFI. This connection is always “on” and any personal computer with a standard Ethernet port (when using wired connection) can connect to it using a standard Ethernet cable (not provided by the college).
- Cable: Basic cable service is included in the room and board fees. Expanded cable service and premium channels must be arranged separately, as the cable service will bill students directly for this extra service. Phone service is also available upon request. Phone bills are the responsibility of the student.
Convenience
- Laundry: Laundry facilities are conveniently located in every residence hall, and their usage is included at no additional charge. Complimentary shared laundry facilities are available in John Arrillaga Hall and O’Brien Hall.
- Dining: Menlo College’s Dining Hall is open for all-you-care-to-eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner most of the summer. The Dining Hall offers a dinner option every night of the summer, either in person or for pre-order pickup.
- Transportation: Menlo College is close to Caltrain and there is a bus stop directly in front of campus.
- Parking: If you will bring a car, add a parking pass to your reservation for $100.

- Refrigerator/Microwave Combo: Request a refrigerator/microwave combo when you reserve your room for $300 and the unit will be in your room upon move-in.
- Fitness Center: Access to the on-campus fitness center.

- Exterior residence hall doors are locked 24 hours daily and secured with electronic access control.
- Residence halls are supervised by Residential Life professional staff and student Resident Assistants (RAs), who help create and maintain an environment conducive to personal growth and academic achievement. Security works collaboratively with the Office of Student Affairs and the Resident Assistant team.
- Each semester, RAs conduct health and safety checks of each residence hall room to ensure that no fire safety violations are present in the room.
How to Reserve Your Internship Housing
- Online Booking: You will book with CloudBeds, a simple and secure database. You’ll see real-time availability and prices. Once you choose your dates and room, you can confirm your reservation instantly and pay online.
- Deposit: A non-refundable deposit equal to 10% of your total housing cost is required to reserve your room. This deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your stay.
- Payment: Please note that 50% of the remaining housing fee is due prior to your move-in date-no exceptions.
- Group Reservations: Employers and group sponsors can take advantage of the opportunity to reserve space for their interns as a block of rooms. Full payment is due by April 22, 2026.
- Student I.D.: Valid Student I.D.
If your internship starts before these dates or ends after these dates you will need to make separate accommodations off campus for that time period.
