Introduction to MyMercer

MyMercer serves as a central hub for students, providing access to personal information, housing details, student records, registration tools, and financial planning resources. It is a primary method of communication between students, faculty, staff, and the institution. Students can begin accessing these Mercer resources as soon as they are admitted to the institution. If you haven’t logged into the MyMercer portal before, this site tells you how to access it.

Accessing MyMercer

To log into your MyMercer portal, view the MyMercer sign-in page. Your username is your Mercer ID number. If you are unable to locate your username or password, note that MCCC uses Microsoft Azure to manage authentication. On this site you can see and update your authentication methods, view the devices you’ve logged into, change your password, and view recent logins information. It is recommended that you add multiple methods.

Key Features and Functions

Personal Information Management

Students can manage their personal information through the MyMercer portal. To access this, select ‘My Profile’ then ‘My Information’ from the menu on the left hand side of your MyMercer homepage.

Financial Matters

The MyMercer portal provides access to financial planning resources and allows students to review their University Bill. Your University Bill is generated 30 days prior to the start of the semester and will appear on your MyMercer account. These bills are subject to change but provide insight into expenses.

Academic Resources

Registration

MyMercer facilitates course registration. Before registering for each semester, contact your adviser and set up a meeting.

Textbooks

To find your textbooks, simply sign into your MyMercer account and locate the ‘Barnes & Noble (Macon)’ tile on your MyMercer homepage. Select “order textbooks” and choose your term. All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in The Bear Book Bundle Program.

Canvas

MyMercer provides access to Canvas, Mercer's learning management system. These training courses and guides are open to those with a Canvas account. There is a self-paced course for Mercer professors to learn to use Canvas, and another self-paced course for Mercer students to learn to use Canvas. This short course allows self-enrollment and can be completed in any order.

Academic Profile (MAP)

First-year students can fill out their Mercer Academic Profile (MAP) beginning late-spring of their senior year. The MAP is an important tool used by academic advisors when constructing student class schedules. This is also how first-year students register for Summer Orientation in June. Transfer students and/or students attending Spring Orientation or May Orientation will also complete an Mercer Academic Profile (MAP). Once completed, the MAP provides academic background information and insight in students’ future academic goals at Mercer.

Housing Information

MyMercer allows students to access housing information. Submit On-Campus Housing Contract: The housing application provides the Office of Housing and Residence Life vital information on where to house each incoming student, as well as serves as a contract between the student and Mercer for housing for that year.

Student Responsibilities

All students have a “Statement of Student Responsibilities” hold that appears when you log in to MyMercer for the first time. To access this hold, log in to MyMercer and locate the “Statement of Student Responsibilities” tile on your MyMercer homepage. Click on the link, read your statement, and electronically sign your form.

Important Preparations for New Students

Over the coming weeks, you will receive important information to help you prepare for your first year at Mercer. Here are some key steps to take:

Enrollment Deposit

Submit your $500 enrollment deposit by May 1 to secure your spot in Mercer University’s incoming class as well as your access to housing self-assignment and priority registration.

I-20 Form

To obtain the F-1 Visa, you'll need to complete an I-20 form. The University has been authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant students and to issue I-20 Forms.

Immunization Records

This document requires students to provide their immunization histories for measles, mumps, and rubella along with the signature of a physician or health care provider.

Health Insurance

All Mercer students are required to have health insurance coverage. Mercer provides coverage to all its students. Students are billed for the cost of health insurance coverage each semester.

Orientation

Attend Orientation: Orientation is designed to give new students and families information about attending Mercer. Our two-day fall orientation program for first-year students, known as Bear Beginnings, is when students will meet their orientation group (O-Group), Peer Advisor (PA), and academic advisor. Transfer students will attend a Transfer Check-In with the Office of Academic & Advising Services on the Monday before classes begin.

Opening Days

Opening Days are special days for both residential and commuter first-year students and their families. Residential students move to campus during their designated timeframe per their residence hall assignment.

Complete your U Got This Training Course: U Got This is an online course that approaches the interconnected issues of substance abuse, sexual violence, and healthy relationships through a variety of realistic scenarios and guided self-reflection. This MANDATORY course promotes a healthier and safer campus environment for everyone.

Time Management

My best advice, to really succeed academically as a Mercer Bear, is to develop excellent time management skills - know when your assignments are due, don’t wait until the last moment to write that paper or answer that discussion post.

Engage with Faculty and Staff

Get to know your professors, ask them for help when you need it, use the ARC and make your studies a priority.

Seek Guidance

As a Mercer student, your adviser is the person who will verify you are on track to meet your goals. Get to know your adviser, and let him or her get to know you. If you have questions or concerns along the way, please reach out to your local campus, your professors, your advisers or your fellow students.

The Bear Book Bundle Program

Bear Book Bundle is a course materials delivery rental program for Mercer undergraduate students. The program lowers the cost of course materials by 35 to 50% over the cost of purchasing books and ensures students have their required course materials on the first day of class. Students may opt.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Account Access

If HR enters the information on or after your new hire date the information will be sent when the credentials are created. Please Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your credentials to sync between all systems. However, there are a few places that require just the username. I still can’t locate my username or password.

Package Delivery

During Peak times, please allow up to 24 hours upon package arrival to campus for processing.
