The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is a nonprofit association pursuing the advancement of sport science professions (physical therapy included). Each year, this organization awards scholarships to NSCA members who are pursuing a degree in a strength and conditioning-related field. To apply, simply submit an application, a transcript, and three letters of recommendation. Physical therapy does qualify as a related field per NSCA guidelines.
Rizing Tide Scholarships
Rizing Tide is a scholarship program designed to empower a new generation of BIPOC leaders in the physical therapy profession and ultimately improve the accessibility of PT care. Each year, Rizing Tide awards the Crest scholarship to undergraduate students who are going on to attend PT school and/or to PTAs entering a PTA-to-DPT bridge program. They also offer the Surge scholarship to graduating physical therapy students or licensed physical therapists who are entering a residency program. To apply, simply fill out an application, collect two letters of recommendation, and submit a transcript and three short personal statements. The Crest scholarship is renewable.

Illinois
The Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA) offers the Judith Harris and Dr. Monica Vohmann Scholarship for first-year DPT students who are IPTA student PT members in good standing, have a 3.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. The IPTA also offers the Team Rehab Scholarship for IPTA student PT members in good standing who are enrolled in an Illinois PT or PTA program, have completed a clinical experience, and are within the last 3 semesters before graduation if a PT student and final year if a PTA student.
Minnesota
Care Providers of Minnesota Scholarship: The education scholarships funded annually by the Care Providers of Minnesota Foundation are designed to assist qualified persons who wish to further their education and practice serving seniors and persons with disabilities. It is the Foundation’s intention to encourage scholarship recipients to continue to work serving seniors and persons with disabilities although this not a requirement.
New York
The Teach NYC Physical Therapy Scholarship Program is for students who agree to serve as a school PT in a New York City public school for 2 years.
Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA) offers the Chris Crivello Scholarship for WPTA members who are expected to graduate from an accredited PT or PTA program within one year.

Allina EMPOWER Scholarship
The Allina EMPOWER Scholarship, administered by Courage Kenny Foundation, encourages and supports ethnically diverse students who are pursuing a career in a medical or rehabilitation field. Applicants must identify how they will use their education and training and demonstrate their interest in rehabilitation. Selection is based on the applicant’s stated intentions, past achievements, need, and graduation ranking. The annual application period is Jan 1 - April 15. Scholarships are awarded in June.
Baylor University DPT Scholarships
Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences awards merit-based scholarships to incoming students who have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence. All students admitted into the program are considered for this prestigious scholarship-no separate application is required. Scholarships are awarded on a rolling bases throughout the admissions cycle and recipients are notified prior to their program start date. The Baylor University DPT program offers the DPT Light the Way Scholarship to enrolled students after their first trimester in the program is complete. This scholarship provides at least one award to a current student from each cohort, each year of the program. Selection criteria are based on alignment with Baylor DPT Values, academic status, financial need, underrepresented minority (URM) status, and an essay response. Being a member of a URM group is considered but not required to qualify for this scholarship.

These scholarships are renewable.
The Power of 1 or 2 Scholarships
The Power of 1 or 2 Scholarships include a graduate scholarship which recognizes graduate college students who always let their light shine bright for others in a way that is impactful and inspiring. The Power of 1 or 2 also offers a Representation Matters scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate BIPOC student pursuing higher education.
UCSF/SFSU DPT Program Internal Scholarships
All students enrolled in the UCSF/SFSU DPT program are eligible for internal scholarships that are awarded on the basis of need, merit, professionalism, and leadership. These scholarships include: Physical Therapy Leadership Scholarship, Irene Gilbert Scholarship, JoAnn Baldwin Peters Memorial Scholarship, Kean Scholarship, Keller Family Scholarship, and Regents Scholarship.
VA National Education for Employees Program (Employee Incentive Scholarship Program)
This scholarship is for students who are VA employees and are pursuing health care careers through degrees that are first-time certification programs requiring practicum hours. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA.
WICHE Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP)
The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education's (WICHE) Professional Student Exchange Program (PSEP) provides financial support to students in certain Western states enrolling in select out-of-state professional programs.
