If the book you need is located at another SDCCD library, you can easily request it online through the library's OneSearch platform. Simply locate the book, click on its title to view the full description, and then click on the Request link. Most circulating books are eligible for request.

Find your focus in the Quiet Study areas located around the Main Circulating Book Collection (to the right of the Circulation Desk as you enter the library). These areas provide study carrels and tables for individual study in a peaceful environment. Please maintain a quiet atmosphere, refraining from loud talking or disruptive noises/activities.
Collaborative Work: Study Rooms
Eight study rooms equipped with whiteboards are available for currently enrolled students on a first-come, first-served basis. The library does not offer advance reservations for these rooms. The check-out period is one hour, but you may remain longer if no one is waiting. To check out a room, present a valid campus ID card to the staff at the Circulation Desk.
Technology Access: Computer Workstations
Library computer workstations are available for currently enrolled students. Log in using your college ID and password. Headphones are available for checkout.
Printing and Copying: Copy Center
The Copy Center provides convenient access to essential printing and copying services. Three photocopiers accept cash (dollar bills, quarters, dimes, and nickels). You can also use your campus ID card; follow the instructions on the Add Value machine to add funds to your card. Both 8½ x 11 and 11 x 17 size copies are ten cents each. Two black-and-white printers and one color printer are available in the Copy Center. To print, you must have a campus ID card with sufficient funds. Instructions for adding money to your ID card are located on the Add Value machine.
Scanning Services: Digitize Your Documents
Utilize the Copy Center's book scanner to digitize books, documents, photographs, and more. This scanning service is offered free of charge.
Course Reserves Limits: Borrowing Guidelines
One course reserves book may be checked out at a time. Returned materials will be reshelved and made available for other patrons.
Overdue Fines: Important Information
Reserve Library Use Only (LUO) materials incur a fine of $5.00 per item per day for unauthorized removal. If you have an overdue fine, a hold will be placed on your student account.
After-Hours Returns: Book Drops

Laptop Loans: Borrowing Technology
The library offers laptop computers for loan. Request a laptop online, and it will be held for you at the library. For questions about the checkout and return process, please call 619-388-7310.
Military Students: Dedicated Services at MCAS
Active Duty military students stationed at MCAS can request calculators or books to be sent directly to MCAS for pickup at The Hub (Bldg 5305). Please note that laptops and other technology equipment (such as webcams, keyboards, mice, and headsets) cannot be shipped to the base.
Skill Enhancement: Walk-in Workshops
Enhance your research skills by attending the library's popular walk-in workshops, presented on Wednesdays at 12:30 PM. Each weekly 30-minute workshop focuses on a different topic. Online workshops and Librarian Open Office Hours are available via Zoom between 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM each Wednesday.

Miramar College Library now offers free access to the online version of The New York Times as a special benefit to all Miramar students, faculty, and staff.
Convenient Returns: Self-Service Bookdrop
A self-service bookdrop is located near the main entrance to the H Building (Arts and Humanities). Enter parking lot #2 from Black Mountain Road and head for the H Building. The bookdrop is located close to the curb right in front of the main entrance.
