Navigating Your Care: A Guide to MSK Patient Education Resources
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is committed to providing patient-centered care. A significant part of this commitment involves equipping patients and their caregivers with the information and resources they need to actively participate in their treatment journey. This article serves as a comprehensive guide to the various patient education resources available at MSK, designed to enhance understanding, improve adherence to treatment plans, and foster stronger therapeutic relationships.
Accessing Patient Education Resources Through MSK MyChart
MSK MyChart is a secure online patient portal that offers convenient access to various aspects of your care. This includes medical records, lab results, images, appointments, and hospital bills. Crucially, MSK MyChart also serves as a repository for patient education resources sent by your care team.
Finding Your Resources in MSK MyChart
Your care team will send you patient education resources during your care at MSK. These may be written or video resources to help you manage your care. To access these resources:
- Log into MSK MyChart.
- Choose “Menu” at the top left.
If you are not yet enrolled in MSK MyChart, ask your care team to send you an invitation. If you cannot find resources that were sent to you, check back later in the day, as your care team may need some time to send the resources. Remember, these resources do not replace medical advice.
Additional Resources Available at MSK
Beyond MSK MyChart, MSK offers a wide array of resources to support patients and their families.

The Cancer Alliance: Extending MSK's Expertise
The Cancer Alliance is a unique partnership between Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and oncology providers like Miami Cancer Institute. Our two organizations work together to adopt into everyday practice at Miami Cancer Institute standards of care that match those at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Teaming up with some of the most preeminent cancer specialists in the world contributes to Miami Cancer Institute’s excellence in cancer care.
The Importance of Collaboration
The creation and growth of the Cancer Alliance was fueled in part by the realization that adopting lifesaving breakthroughs in clinical practice takes an enormous amount of resources and time. As the population ages, it becomes more and more difficult for doctors to stay current with complex new treatments and the most current evidence available. Teams of physicians and other healthcare providers from Memorial Sloan Kettering and Miami Cancer Institute work diligently side by side to ensure that resources, capabilities and standards of care are in line with those of the Cancer Alliance.
Enhancing Patient Care Through Shared Knowledge
Miami Cancer Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering physicians interact regularly to discuss select, complex cancer cases. In treating more than 130,000 patients each year, Memorial Sloan Kettering’s experience translates into knowledge that typically takes years to become the standard of care elsewhere. An essential component of this alliance is the ability to provide access to MSKCC clinical trials not previously available to patients in the Miami area.

- Content review and enhancement: Jack has actively reviewed Cetra Health’s MSK content including handouts, diagrams, treatment-explanation materials to ensure they reflect the latest best practices in rheumatology and MSK physiotherapy. His specialist input strengthens the quality and credibility of the resources.
- Patient-education focus: With Jack’s expertise in rheumatology and his experience teaching other professionals, he has helped Cetra Health focus on how to explain complex conditions in ways that patients understand, bridging the gap between clinician language and patient comprehension.
- Improving patient outcomes through education: Jack’s core mission aligns with Cetra’s: when patients understand their condition and what they need to do, outcomes improve.
Benefits for MSK Clinicians & Patients
For clinicians using Cetra Health, our partnership with Jack March brings extra assurance: you’re using tools that have been shaped by a leading specialist in rheumatology and MSK education. For patients, it means receiving resources that are not only evidence-based, but designed to make sense, so they feel more confident and engaged in their care.
Here are some key benefits you can expect:
- Improved patient engagement: Clear diagrams + personalised annotation + sharing = patients who recall more and ask better questions.
- Better adherence to treatment plans: With understandable resources, patients are more likely to follow recommendations (exercise, self-management, lifestyle changes).
- Less time re-explaining the same thing: Because our resources do a lot of the heavy lifting, clinicians can use appointment time more efficiently.
- Consistency across your practice/team: If multiple clinicians in your practice use Cetra Health, you have a consistent set of resources, branding and patient communication flow.

Reporting Concerns
Anyone observing something in an individual’s performance or behavior that indicates that this individual may be violating GSK or MSK’s Code of Conduct policies should refer the matter to the Dean of GSK. The Dean should contact an HR representative for evaluation and advice. If you are not comfortable raising an issue in your department, or if you have raised a concern and feel that it has not been addressed, you can call the MSK Compliance Hotline. It provides a way for employees as well as vendors and contractors to report concerns about how MSK does business.
MSK Compliance Hotline
The MSK Compliance Hotline is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and is managed by an outside company. If you make a report through the Compliance Hotline, you will be asked to call back in ten days for a status report.
