Admission Requirements

To be admitted to MUST University, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be 18 years or older or have written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Complete Enrollment Agreement.
A registration fee is required upon enrollment. Please note that this is a one-time non-refundable fee.
Copy of a valid government-issued picture identification.
Copy of high school diploma, or high school transcript, or GED, or similar document if applicant completed secondary education in another country.
Transfer Credits: A student may receive transfer credits from an accredited institution only upon evaluation and approval from the Vice-President of Academic Affairs office. Valid transcripts and any other documentation must be forwarded to the University by the granting institution.

English Language Proficiency Assessment

Prospective students whose native language is not English and who have not earned a degree from an appropriately accredited institution where English is the principal language of instruction must demonstrate college-level proficiency in English through one of the following for admission:

Master’s Degree:

A minimum total score of 60 on the paper-delivered Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), or 71 on the Internet Based Test (iBT).
6.5 on the International English Language Test (IELTS).
50 on the Pearson Test of English Academic Score Report.
100 on the Duolingo English Test.
55 on the 4-skill Michigan English Test (MET), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English (ECCE), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE).

First Professional Degree or Professional Doctoral Degree:

A minimum score of 65 on the paper-delivered Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), or 80 on the Internet Based Test (iBT).
6.5 on the International English Language Test (IELTS).
58 on the Pearson Test of English Academic Score Report.
105 on the Duolingo English Test.
55 on the 4-skill Michigan English Test (MET), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English (ECCE), or 650/LP on the Michigan Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE).
A minimum score on the College Board Accuplacer - ESL Exam Series as follows:
- ESL Language Use: Score of 85.
- ESL Listening: Score of 80.
- ESL Reading: Score of 85.
- ESL Sentence Meaning: Score of 90.
- ESL Writeplacer: Score of 4.
- Comprehensive Score for all exams of 350.
A minimum grade of Pre-1 on the Eiken English Proficiency Exam.
A minimum B-2 English proficiency level identified within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards and assessed through various ESOL examinations, including the University of Cambridge.
A transcript indicating completion of at least 30 semester credit hours with an average grade of “C” or higher at an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities where the language of instruction was English. An average grade of B or higher is required for the master’s degree, first professional degree, or professional doctoral degree.
Transcripts not in English must be evaluated by an appropriate third party and translated into English or evaluated by a trained transcript evaluator fluent in the language on the transcript. In this case, the evaluator must have expertise in the educational practices of the country of origin and include an English translation of the review.

Transfer of Credits into the University

Transfer of credit acceptance is always the decision of the individual college or university and is at the sole discretion of the receiving institution. Accreditation does not guarantee transfer of credits. Students interested in transferring credits earned at MUST University should check with the receiving institution directly to determine to what extent, if any, credits can be transferred. The request to transfer credit into MUST University must be initiated by the applicant or student. Requests for transfer credit should be submitted prior to enrollment, and only under extenuating circumstances may an exception be made with the approval of the University President, in which case all necessary documents must be received no later than 45 calendar days after the start date or re-entry date of the student’s program. To apply for consideration of credits previously earned, students must request transcripts be sent directly to the University to the attention of the Registrar. Students may be required to provide a relevant catalog and/or other relevant documents regarding the course(s) to be considered. Foreign Transcripts shall be translated by a third-party agency authorized to perform official translations.

Non-Matriculated Students

This status is for students who are not seeking a degree or certificate at the time of admission, are not interested in receiving financial support, and who wish to waive placement testing and academic advisement which would normally determine the suitability of their courses for degree fulfillment or transfer credit. These students will comply with steps 1-4 of the admission requirements only. MUST University welcomes students from all walks of life.
