EA Sports College Football 25: A Deep Dive into the Game Details
After a decade-long absence, EA Sports has resurrected its college football franchise, unleashing College Football 25 to widespread excitement. The game encompasses all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams, including UConn, complete with their logos, uniforms, and stadiums. Thanks to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements, the game now boasts full rosters with real players, marking a significant departure from previous iterations. Gone are the days of generic players; now, gamers can play with returning stars and explore the potential of new transfer recruits.

Ratings
UConn enters the game with an overall rating of 76, comprising a 71 offense and a 72 defense. This places them alongside teams like Army (76 overall), Florida Atlantic, FIU (77 overall), Navy (76 overall), and Utah State (77 overall).
Looking at UConn’s 2024 schedule within the game, they will face teams with varying overall ratings: Maryland (80), Duke (80), Florida Atlantic (77), Buffalo (73), Temple (73), Wake Forest (84), Rice (77), Georgia State (73), UAB (77), Syracuse (85), and UMass (76). Based on these ratings, UConn is positioned as better than three of their FBS opponents, comparable to four, and slightly below the remaining three. It's important to note that Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams are not included in the game.
Individually, UConn’s top-rated player is right tackle Chase Lundt at 82 overall, followed by Jelani Stafford (81) and TJ Sheffield (80) as the only other players above 80. Starting quarterback Nick Evers is rated 75 overall. Running back Victor Rosa (77 overall) is the team's fastest player with 93 speed, while defensive tackle Jayden Simon possesses the highest strength at 95.
Uniforms
UConn's uniform options are somewhat limited. Aside from helmets, the jersey, pants, and socks are only available in standard flag blue and white versions, with no throwbacks or alternates.

The helmet options include a flag blue helmet with the standard husky logo and facemask, a second flag blue helmet with the Block C logo and white facemask, and a white helmet with the husky and flag blue facemask. There is a fourth helmet option visible in the uniform customization screen-a second white helmet with the Block C logo-but it is identical to the other white helmet.
The limited uniform choices likely reflect UConn’s actual on-field attire, as they primarily use their flag blue/white combinations without alternates or throwbacks. However, some players might appreciate a greater variety of options. NCAA Football 14 featured uniforms from different eras, and the inclusion of looks from UConn’s Division-1AA days could add a fun, historical element.
Rentschler Field
While the game accurately represents the structure of Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, it lacks attention to finer details.
The field logos are incorrectly placed, with the Husky logo at midfield facing the wrong direction and the endzone lettering swapped. Additionally, the superstructure on the south side of the stadium is missing UConn’s bowl game banners, and the Jasper Howard memorial underneath the video board is absent.
The game incorporates "dynamic attendance," meaning crowd sizes fluctuate based on the team's performance in game modes like Dynasty or Road to Glory. This can lead to sparsely populated stands at The Rent during less successful seasons.

UConn has two official rivals in the game: UMass and UCF, acknowledging the Civil ConFLiCT.
The Road to College Football 25
Following the release of NCAA Football 14 in 2013, Electronic Arts (EA) settled a lawsuit with former college football players who claimed their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) were used without permission or compensation. Initially, player names and likenesses were excluded from the game, leading several schools to decline participation until NIL rules were finalized. EA Sports initially stated that "player name, image and likeness is not currently planned for the game," but remained open to including players if the opportunity arose.
In November 2022, EA Sports announced the game's release in the summer of 2024, with all 134 FBS programs included. ESPN's Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit were announced as commentators, marking Herbstreit's return to the series after its hiatus.
A gameplay trailer premiered in July 2024, showcasing raw gameplay. Licensed music in College Football 25 will include popular tracks such as "Sandstorm," "Mo Bamba," and "Welcome to the Jungle."

NIL deals play a role in Road to Glory, allowing players to earn bonuses and endorsements.
