NEASE: Essential Resources for Student Success

Navigating the educational landscape can be complex, but NEASE is committed to providing students with the resources they need to thrive. This article outlines key links, programs, and information designed to support students from elementary school through college preparation.

Accessing Online Platforms and Resources

Students at NEASE utilize various online platforms to enhance their learning experience. Clever serves as a central hub, providing easy access to essential tools such as Schoology and Microsoft 365. For students in grades 9-12, Schoology is the primary platform for accessing online textbooks and course materials.

Allen D. Nease High School: A Welcoming Environment

Welcome to Allen D. Nease High School, a school committed to its students success. New families can register on the St. Johns County School District website to begin their journey with Nease.

Parent Resources for Student Support

The St. Johns County School District provides Year-at-a-Glance Pacing Guides for all grade levels. These guides are available for viewing or downloading, enabling parents to stay informed about the curriculum and learning objectives throughout the year.

Prioritizing School Safety

Safety is paramount at NEASE. FortifyFL, a mobile app and web-based tool, allows students, parents, and community members in Florida to anonymously report suspicious activities, potential threats, or safety concerns related to schools.

To ensure the safety of all students and staff, school access beyond the front office requires completion of the district’s volunteer application. Once approved, this access is valid for three years.

The MVNU Nease Institute: Bridging the Gap to College

The MVNU Nease Institute is a summer bridge/first-year experience program designed to help eligible incoming first-year students prepare for the transition to college. Named in honor of Dr., the Nease Institute offers students the chance to establish themselves as scholars equipped for thriving in their college experience.

The program begins with an eight-day residential program on the campus of MVNU and extends throughout the student's MVNU journey. Participants will meet faculty and staff, learn about student-centered services, and build a supportive network of friends and mentors. The ultimate goal is to ensure that every student who begins their course of study at MVNU successfully graduates.

Media Center: A Hub for Learning and Discovery

The Nease High School Media Center is dedicated to inspiring and supporting all stakeholders - students, faculty, parents, and the community - to become 21st-century globally-minded and socially responsible life-long learners. College Application Guidance

Navigating the college application process can be daunting. Here are some general rules to keep in mind:

  • Most colleges prefer online applications.
  • All applications require an application fee.
  • Most college applications require an essay, which is a critical factor in the admission process.
  • Provide at least two weeks' notice when requesting a recommendation.
  • Early Decision is binding; if admitted, you must withdraw all other college applications. Early Action is not binding.
  • ACTs are administered at NEASE on designated Saturdays. Registration is required.
  • SAT IIs may be required by some schools for admission and/or placement purposes.
  • Students are allowed five excused absences for college visits.
  • Pay close attention to deadlines!

Service Hours and Graduation Requirements

Service hours should be submitted on letterhead from the place of service, including the student's name, number of hours completed, and the start and end dates of service. A copy should be kept for personal records, and the original should be turned into the counselor. Florida Academic Scholars/Bright Futures requires 75-100 hours. There is not a service hour requirement for graduation.

Victory with Honor: Student-Athlete Code of Conduct

Student-athletes must understand the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct. Student-athletes and their parent/guardian will sign indicating they have read and understand the Code of Conduct as a part of the online registration process. The online registration process via AthleticClearance.com must be completed, and the student-athlete cleared, prior to trying out for a sport.

Partnering with Parents

Effective youth ministry involves partnering with parents, not judging them. Imperfect youth ministers and imperfect parents can all be used by God in the lives of students. Recognizing the allure of moralism, it's crucial to continually preach Christ crucified.

Gospel-Centered Ministry

Gospel-centered ministry can thrive through authentic discipleship, community engagement, and the unchanging power of Christ. The gospel gives us the freedom to admit everything isn’t okay, and reminding our children of this truth is a gift we can give them.
