New Richmond Community Education: Lifelong Learning for All Ages

New Richmond Area Community Education, an extension and service of the School District of New Richmond, has been serving the community since 1981. Founded by former district teacher Bob Heebink, it has evolved into a comprehensive program offering diverse lifelong learning opportunities. Reaching over 17,000 residents annually, Community Education is housed in the Community Commons, formerly the district's middle school.

A Hub for Lifelong Learning

New Richmond Community Education provides classes, trips/tours, seminars, activities, and events for all ages. The program coordinates the Annual Empty Bowls campaign for hunger and the STEP program, which allows seniors to work in schools for property tax credit. It also partners with local non-profits and businesses.

The educational, recreational, and social opportunities provided by Community Education for all ages make the School District of New Richmond truly a community-centered school district.

Self-Supporting Classes

Classes are self-supporting, with costs covered by user fees. New Richmond Community Education strives to offer a variety of programs and welcomes class requests. If there is enough interest to cover the costs of the program, the request for a class becomes a reality!
