Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Scholarship: A Comprehensive Guide

Securing funding for higher education can be a daunting task. Fortunately, numerous scholarships are available to help students achieve their academic goals. One such opportunity is the Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT) scholarship, designed to support students pursuing manufacturing careers. This article provides a detailed overview of the NBT scholarship, its requirements, and other similar scholarship opportunities.

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Scholarship Details

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs (NBT) provides scholarships up to $3,500 for students pursuing degrees that will lead to manufacturing careers. Since 1990, NBT has awarded scholarships to students majoring in programs that lead to careers in manufacturing. Scholarships are awarded in the spring and fall of each year.

Eligibility and Application Requirements for NBT Scholarship

To be considered for a scholarship award, your transcript and application must be received or postmarked by the deadlines noted above. Application review and scholarship award decisions will take place in November for spring terms and in May for fall terms.

Application Requirements

  1. Submit an online application. The first step is to complete and submit the online application form, ensuring all fields are accurately filled.
  2. Submit an official high school or college transcript. An official transcript from the school where you last completed a semester is required. For grade verification, official transcripts must be sent by the educational institution(s) you last attend(ed) or requested through an electronic transcript service such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse. Only transcripts received electronically or postmarked by the application deadline will be accepted.

Evaluation Process

Completed and eligible applications are evaluated by a committee of scholarship reviewers comprised of volunteer members, donors, and partners from the manufacturing industry. The NBT board may create new scholarship categories and/or revise the approved fields of study at its discretion.

Scholarship Award Distribution

Scholarship award funds will be sent directly to the financial aid department of the school the applicant will attend only. Required educational equipment or tools may also be covered, but only if they are available for purchase directly through the college store.
