Ohlone College Parking: A Comprehensive Guide

Ohlone College requires all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to possess a valid parking permit for parking in any of the parking lots at both the Fremont and Newark campuses. Understanding the regulations and options is crucial for a hassle-free experience.

Virtual Permits: The New Standard

As of January 2022, Ohlone College has transitioned to virtual parking permits. This means there is no physical permit to display in your vehicle. The license plates of vehicles parked on campus are required to be linked to an active digital Parking Permit in the MyOhlone Portal. When you register your vehicle, it will show in the system that you have a permit almost instantly. The vehicle license plate information will strictly be used for permit identification only. Law enforcement agencies and entities outside of the district will not have access to the information. The information will automatically be deleted after a certain time frame.

Student Semester Parking Permits

Eligibility and Purchase

Student Semester Parking Permits are available for purchase 21 days prior to the start of the semester and are valid only for the semester for which they are purchased. To be eligible, you must be a registered Ohlone student.

How to Purchase

  1. Log in to the MyOhlone Portal.
  2. Click on "Order Parking Permit," located under "Academic Profile." This will direct you to the parking permit order form.
  3. Ensure all information is correct and complete. Incorrect or incomplete information will prevent the ordering process from being completed and will cause a delay in obtaining your permit.
  4. Upon completing the purchase order, your permit is immediately active.

California College Promise Grant (CPGW)

If you meet the requirements and are on the eligibility list for the California College Promise Grant (CPGW), your Student D number will automatically be verified, and your Semester Parking Permit fee will be reduced. If the rate is not reduced, contact student records to confirm you are approved for the CPGW.

Multiple Vehicles

Students may have up to two (2) vehicles attached to their digital parking permit. If you're driving a different vehicle than what is listed on your account, log in to the Simply Permits parking portal and add or change the vehicle information to the new one.
