The Omega Law Group Community Growth Scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden of college for students who have made a significant impact in their communities. The firm awards \$2,500 to a student whose video or essay demonstrates both a commitment to their community and an understanding of collective support. The scholarship funds are intended to be applied towards the student's spring semester tuition.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Omega Law Group Community Growth Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be in good academic standing.
Have proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited United States university, college, or graduate school.
Agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
Submit all applicable application materials by the scholarship’s deadline.
Be at least 18 years old at the age of enrollment
Have residency in the United States

The firm invites both graduate and undergraduate students, regardless of their field of study, to apply for financial support.

How to Apply

Students looking to apply for the Omega Law Group Community Growth Scholarship can create either a traditional written essay or a video essay addressing the prompt: "What does your community mean to you? Discuss your commitment to both your school and any communities that have influenced your day-to-day life."

Essay Guidelines

Written Essays: Should be less than 1,000 words and pass plagiarism tests.
Video Essays: Should be between one and two minutes in length.

The scholarship selection committee will provide equal weight to both essay formats.

Video Submission Guidelines

For video essays to be considered eligible, students are required to:

Record their videos in well-lit areas while holding their recording device of choice as still as possible.
Mention their full name and the name of the scholarship they are applying for either at the beginning or at the end of their video and give credits as necessary.
Specify any sources of information and the media editing tools used in crafting and creating their videos in the description of the video.
Use only copyright-free content and come up with a creative, catchy title that reflects their ideas.
Upload their videos as unlisted videos to YouTube and then share a link to that video with Omega Law Group.

Application Deadline

The deadline to apply is June 15, 2026. Omega Law Group’s scholarship selection committee will not consider applications submitted after this deadline. The team reserves up to three months following the closing of the scholarship to select a winner. We cannot answer questions about the scholarship or the status of a student’s application at this time.

Terms and Conditions

All applicants to this scholarship must meet the eligibility requirements as laid out on the scholarship application page, including:

Applicant must be enrolled at a college, university, or graduate school
Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the age of enrollment
Applicant must have residency in the United States
Applicant must be in good academic standing
Applicant must submit some personal information, including name, contact information, and proof of enrollment.
Applicant must author an original essay on the scholarship essay topic provided.

Anyone who meets the following conditions is NOT eligible to apply:

Applicants who are unable/unwilling to be interviewed by a representative of Omega Law Group if they were to be awarded a scholarship.
Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships or multiple years in a row.

Selection & Award Notification Process

Students must submit their 2026 Community Growth Scholarships with all of the firm’s requested materials if they want the team’s scholarship selection committee to consider their applications. The firm will not consider incomplete applications or applications submitted after June 15, 2026. Unfortunately, Omega Law Group cannot answer questions about the nature of this scholarship at this time. We likewise will not answer questions about the status of a student’s application or our scholarship selection process. Age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected classes will have no influence on the committee’s decision. Omega Law Group will contact its scholarship winner and work with that student to ensure the scholarship funds reach the student’s institution of choice. Omega Law Group will then announce its scholarship winner via press release and blog post.

Krystal Robledo: 2024 Community Growth Scholarship Winner

In 2024, Omega Law Group awarded the Community Growth Scholarship to Krystal Robledo, a mother of three with a deep commitment to her community. Krystal's journey has not been easy, but she has consistently demonstrated a dedication to her daughters, the city of Chicago, local Latina moms, and anyone in need of support.

Krystal's Story: A Commitment to Community Growth

Krystal Robledo has a profound understanding of the community safety challenges that her city faces. She has been committed to creating a safer, more supportive environment for those in need. At 23 years old, Krystal co-founded The Healing Corner, a gun violence prevention organization in Chicago, IL. At the time, Krystal was a community college dropout with three young girls. Despite her own needs, Krystal dedicated considerable time to The Healing Corner.

“We gave out ‘free hugs’ along with free food at our first-ever community-building events,” she says. “Our events…which took place on the same corners where shootings take place, eventually gained popularity as positive loitering events in a city that knew gun violence all too well,” she continues. “Local politicians, neighbors, the police department-many people came together to support our mission.”

Krystal's work with The Healing Corner inspired her to return to college in Fall 2017. She credits the support of her community for helping her achieve her undergraduate degree and gain acceptance into five law schools. She ultimately chose to attend Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

Upon arriving at John Marshall Law School, Krystal noticed that there were only eight Latino students in her class of 100. In response, she founded the Caribbean, Hispanic, and Latino Law Student Association (CHALLSA) to create a supportive community for students from across the Latin American diaspora.

As of her final semester of law school, Krystal ranks among the top 14 students in her class. She is preparing to take the July 2025 Bar Exam and hopes to work at a law firm that prioritizes underserved and underrepresented communities in an area of law that allows her to constantly work with and advocate for these populations in and out of the courtroom.

“I am passionate about civil rights work,” she continues, “and I hope to have my own civil rights firm one day and represent plaintiffs in racially discriminatory policing cases and education, housing, and employment discrimination.”
