Unleashing Your Potential: A Guide to UCF Orientation
Welcome to Knight Nation! The University of Central Florida is honored to be the place where you unleash your potential. To help you transition smoothly into university life, UCF has developed three unique orientation experiences for incoming students and their families. This guide provides essential information about UCF orientation, ensuring you are well-prepared for this important step in your academic journey.
Orientation Overview
Orientation is a crucial program designed to introduce new students to UCF's academic environment, resources, and community. Whether you are a summer or fall admit, attending orientation prior to the start of classes is mandatory. During orientation, you will have the invaluable opportunity to meet with your academic college and register for courses, setting the stage for a successful academic career.
Orientation Structure and Activities
On your orientation day, students will attend a two-part session. The session begins in the morning with a college presentation hosted by Student Academic Services. This presentation offers insights into your specific college's academic programs, resources, and expectations. Following the presentation, you will meet with an academic advisor to prepare for course registration. This one-on-one meeting is crucial for understanding degree requirements, selecting appropriate courses, and planning your academic path.
Key Requirements and Preparations
To make the most of your orientation experience, it's essential to come prepared. Students attending a new student orientation event should plan to have their unofficial transcripts and/or score reports of all incoming credit to UCF accessible, even if official score reports and transcripts have already been sent to the University. This documentation will assist your academic advisor in providing accurate and personalized guidance.
Furthermore, students must have their health records verified as complete prior to their scheduled orientation event. Active immunization holds will restrict a student from registering at orientation. Ensuring your health records are up-to-date is crucial for a seamless orientation and registration process.
