Unlocking Opportunities: A Guide to OTC Foundation Scholarships
Foundation scholarships play a crucial role in making education both accessible and affordable for students. Many scholarships are awarded based on academic merit or financial need. Each year, a significant number of students at Ozarks Tech (OTC) benefit from scholarships that substantially reduce or completely cover their tuition expenses.
Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC) Scholarship Opportunities
At Ozarks Tech, students have access to over 130 scholarships through a single General Application, streamlining the process of finding financial aid. Once submitted, the system automatically matches applicants to scholarships based on their qualifications.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must be enrolled as degree-seeking students at Ozarks Tech. New scholarships may become available throughout the year, so it’s important to stay updated.
Application and Review Process
The scholarship application for OTC’s summer and fall semesters is open. After the application period closes, a scholarship committee reviews and scores all submissions. Notifications are sent out, and applicants can log in to the scholarship portal to view any scholarship offers they’ve received. Scholarship offers can be found under the “My Applications” tab in the scholarship portal. It is important to monitor the portal regularly for updates and award acceptance instructions.
Foundation and Institutional Scholarships
One application puts students in the running for both Foundation scholarships, which are supported by donors, and Institutional scholarships, which are provided by the college. Awards often consider academic performance, financial need, program of study, and the applicant's personal story. Nearly 300 OTC students received Foundation scholarships, totaling more than half a million dollars. OTC employees are significant donors to the Foundation scholarship fund. According to Amy Bacon, executive director of the OTC Foundation, “Scholarships are one of the tools we can use to help our students achieve their educational goals.”
