Penacony Paperfold University: Lore and Legacy
Penacony Paperfold University, located in the Moment of Sol within Penacony's Dreamscape, stands as a beacon of knowledge, radiating its influence both within and beyond the dream realm. This institution is known as the cradle of outstanding talents. It plays a vital role in shaping the minds of Dreamweavers and other professionals crucial to Penacony's unique society. According to legend, the Paperfold University was established during the Pioneering Era.
A World in Transition
To fully understand the significance of Paperfold University, it's essential to grasp the context of Penacony's history. Before Akivili's fall, Penacony was a desolate, barren world of deserts, functioning as a prison planet under the Interastral Peace Corporation's (IPC) control. Countless inmates toiled to retrieve Memory Bubbles for the Garden of Recollection, hoping to avert a looming catastrophe.
From this harsh environment, seven Family lineages emerged: Oak, Alfalfa, Bloodhound, Iris, Nightingale, Lampmoth, and Blackplum. Eventually, the Lampmoth and Blackplum Families faded, leaving the five major lineages that dominate Penaconyan society.
The Birth of Paperfold University
Towards the end of the War of Independence, Penacony needed reparations and the memoria of the Primordial Dreamscape. Glaux, then the head of the Nightingale Family, founded Paperfold University to train Dreamweavers. This marked a turning point, as Penacony sought to harness the power of dreams for its own development.
The Dreamchaser Era and Expansion
Following a Stellaron crisis, Gopher Wood arrived in Penacony to aid Mikhail. Wood created The Dream of the Order with the stellaron at it's source, successfully diverting the Stellaron crisis. Later, the History Fictionoligists were recruited to launch a campaign to attract Dreamchasers to Penacony.

Dreamchasers, lured by the promise of successful business ventures, flocked to Penacony and began exploring the Primordial Dreamscape. As Penacony expanded, these Dreamchasers started claiming territories, challenging Gopher Wood's control. After many Amber Eras of chaos and war, Penacony decided to take its first step towards expanding the Dreamscape. The Nightingale Family extended invitations to various architects and memoria scholars across the universe to build the Dreamscape. This influx of talent and ambition ushered in the Dreamchaser Era, a period of rapid development for Penacony.
In 2151 AE, the Dreamweaving Project officially launched, with the ambitious goal of completing twelve Dreamscapes within the Amber Era. This project further solidified Paperfold University's role as a vital institution, providing the skilled Dreamweavers needed to realize these grand visions.
The Family's Influence and Internal Strife
After the Reverie Hotel opened, the first Charmony Festival was successfully held. It was at this time the Oak Family Head Gopher Wood declared the "unity of the five major lineages," pushing for all Families to join The Family under the Harmony. However, the Nightingale Family's refusal to join led to brutal treatment by the Bloodhound Family, resulting in the unintentional deaths of Origami Dreamweavers Joey, Vaughn, and Barlow. Under pressure, Nightingale Family Head Glaux resigned and founded the Paperfold Academy. His student Fischer succeeded his position and ultimately made the decision to join The Family in order to avoid pointless bloodshed.
The Modern University
Paperfold University offers students a variety of study spaces, including lecture halls and recording studios to support students from all academies in preparing for their exams. The university is known for the exclusive stall for the Paperfold University Dessert Club. The main thoroughfare of Paperfold University is the perfect place for students to exchange ideas, share hobbies, and gossip. The corridor connects Fortune and Dreamweaver Academies. The activity area in front of Charmony Academy.
Intrigue and Recent Events
Shortly before the end of the Astral Express Crew's adventures on Jarilo-VI, The Family at Penacony issued formal invitations to many galactic factions for the Charmony Festival for the first time in history. In reality, the invitations sent to the non-Harmony aligned factions were created by Gallagher as per The Watchmaker's plan.

Dr. With Sunday's plan in ruins, he is removed from power. Jade and Topaz enter negotiations with Oti Alfalfa, the de-facto leader of the Family. Oti initially plans to open Penacony to the public to prevent the IPC from regaining the former prison planet and warns the two Stonehearts not to interfere with his plan. After having Topaz sent off for other business, Jade reminds Oti that the IPC had more than enough resources and power to easily crush his plan without much difficulty. She instead offers a counter-proposal of her own; if he abandons his plan, the IPC would not jeopardize the Family's interests and consider some of them. She also offers rebuilding assistance at the cost of 30% of the planet's shares. After hearing her responses to his questions, Oti agrees to her proposal. She then has Topaz bring Himeko in, revealing that she would be given 5% of the shares to honor the contributions and sacrifices made by the Nameless.
During the Astral Express's visit, the university was infiltrated by the AtaviSearch Forest Research Ape "Profnana," who, with the help of Memokeeper Mr. Reca, spread a memetic virus that turned its hosts into monkeys and promoted the Slumbernana Association. The Trailblazer, along with Rappa, uncovered and thwarted Profnana's plot.
Following this incident, the university hosted a music ceremony where students from various academies formed a band, initially managed by the Trailblazer and led by Rappa. Despite their popularity, the band was temporarily disbanded due to procedural issues, but they eventually returned to perform after uncovering a plot by the Fortune Academy advisor.
Mr. Aymille mentions that one of The Family's traitors was a professor in the Paperfold University twenty years ago. Hanu Animator mentions a history professor in Paperfold University. The blackboard in the South East classroom has musical notes written on it.
Exploring the Campus
Within the Penacony Paperfold University College, there are 20 chests to collect. Among these chests are the Paperfold University Lordly Trashcans. One can be found at the back of the classroom in the southeast area of the map. The second Paperfold University Lordly Trashcan is at the northern end of the east hallway. Paperfold University Chest 1 can be found at the southernmost area of the map where you first enter the campus grounds. Chest 3 can be found in the corner of the classroom at the southeastern part of the map. Go east from the Cultural Corridor Space Anchor and head past Chad the Party King. Head north from the Cultural Corridor Space Anchor and you'll find a Dream Ticker. The Dream Ticker for Chest 7 will allow you to choose the difficulty for the puzzle. After getting Chest 7, head further north through the east hallway. Chest 9 is located on the east side of the central area. From Chest 9, head towards the west side of the central area. Chest 11 can be found by the southwestern exit of the central walkway. Go south from the Creator's Market Space Anchor and you'll find Chest 12 at the end of the west hallway. Head into the westernmost area near the Creator's Market Space Anchor and you'll find a Dream Ticker by the red archway. You can actually make Chest 13's Dream Ticker solve itself by selecting Option 2 for all prompts during the conversation. Chest 14 is just a few steps west of the Dream Ticker for Chest 13. Head west from the Great Bird at the northern area of the map to find a Dream Ticker. To get the rewards from the Dream Ticker, simply enter the puzzle screen, exit out of the screen, and pick I'm done when prompted. Enter the Dean's Office at the northernmost area of the map.
