Building the Duck Commander Empire
In his first year, Robertson sold $8,000 worth of duck calls. The Robertson family home in West Monroe, Louisiana, became the Duck Commander factory, where he and his family assembled, packaged, and shipped the calls. Phil traveled extensively, attempting to sell his product line, often facing rejection.
In the beginning, Kay and her sons contributed to the Duck Commander business while also running a commercial fishing business to sustain the family. In the mid-1970s, Phil experienced a spiritual transformation, turning his life over to the Lord.
Duck Commander is a family business, with all four sons and their wives having worked for the company. The Robertson's no longer operate from their home, production has moved to a warehouse in West Monroe, featured on A&E’s hit TV series, “Duck Dynasty.” Since 1973, Duck Commander Products have been sold in all 50 states and in several countries.

Not long after the success of the duck calls, Phil began producing instructional videos, which cultivated a global fan base of fellow duck hunters. The Robertson family ventured into the entertainment industry with their reality show "Duck Dynasty" on A&E from 2012 to 2017. However, Robertson's journey has not been without controversy.
