In November 2025, Plainfield Public Schools announced two key leadership appointments at Plainfield High School (PHS), effective November 24, 2025. Stacey W. Kelleher was named the new Principal of PHS, and Erin Quinn was appointed Interim Assistant Principal for the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year.
Stacey W. Kelleher: A Dedicated Leader
Stacey W. Kelleher, a distinguished educational leader and long-time member of the Plainfield Public Schools community, brings extensive administrative experience and a proven record of promoting a positive school climate. Kelleher served as Assistant Principal at PHS since 2019 and previously spent seven years as Assistant Principal at Plainfield Central Middle School. Her 12 years of administrative leadership have included guiding academic program development, managing pilot curriculum initiatives in Science and Language Arts, and establishing opportunities for at-risk students through the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). A former business education teacher at PHS and Griswold High School, Kelleher was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2009.
Erin Quinn: Strengthening the Leadership Team
Erin Quinn was selected as Interim Assistant Principal, serving through the first semester. Most recently, Quinn served as the district’s Instructional Technology Coach, supporting teachers in integrating technology effectively into curriculum and instruction. The full-time Assistant Principal position was posted and remained open until December 5.
Superintendent’s Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027
The proposed operating budget for FY 2026-27 totals $40,690,001. The budget presentation was scheduled for Wednesday, January 28th.

Safety and Security Measures
The safety and security of students and staff are the highest priorities. The district has adopted the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a nationally recognized and best-practice method for emergency response. The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) is based on a set of clear, concise, and shared actions that can be implemented in any emergency. This consistent vocabulary allows students, staff, and first responders to communicate effectively and act quickly. Throughout the school year, drills are conducted to practice these actions.
Addressing Community Concerns
Recently, a family reached out to share their concerns after hearing gunshots in the area while on school grounds during the evenings. It is helpful to note that in open rural terrain, the sound of a gunshot can travel and be heard clearly from up to two miles away. The Chief of Police has proactively spoken with homeowners whose properties are near the schools. These neighbors are committed members of the community who care deeply about the students' safety.

School Lunch Program
The new online portal for free and reduced lunch applications is now available. This portal is easily accessible and provides a convenient way to apply for free or reduced-price meals for children. Students are able to bring money into the school and deposit into their student accounts directly. Parents can add their children using their Student ID number and last name.
Board of Education Committees
There are several standing committees of the Board as well as special ad-hoc committees that are created by the president to serve specific purposes.
