Our summer intern program begins in Stephens’ Little Rock headquarters, but the interns may also learn in Stephens’ Fayetteville, AR branch, or the Memphis, TN branch as well. During this elite program, summer interns are given the opportunity to work daily alongside our analysts in the Private Wealth Management associate two year program. The Private Wealth Management summer internship provided me with valuable industry experience through collaboration with a wide range of industry professionals and is a top-tier opportunity in the financial services industry. With access to experienced professionals and hands-on learning, interns leave the program well-equipped to start their careers. Stephens Private Wealth Management provides clients with a range of investment services from portfolio analysis to long-term planning. Applications open on the first business day of August and close towards the end of September. During your application, you will have the ability to select from the available summer internship locations. Interviews begin in September. This typically consists of several virtual interviews and if selected, you will be invited to a final virtual interview with leadership from the Private Wealth Management department.

Citizens Private Bank: As a Private Bank intern within Citizens Private Bank, you'll have the opportunity to support the Preferred Banking team and Relationship Managers in managing client relationships. After submitting an application, qualified intern candidates will receive notification to complete a self-guided video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link. If not completed within the timeframe, the application will be automatically withdrawn from consideration for our internship program.

Deutsche Bank Internship Programme: The Deutsche Bank Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll quickly gain the confidence to take on real projects by learning first-hand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. To be eligible for the Internship Programme you must be in your penultimate year of study (i.e. for the 2026 Internship Programme, you must be graduating in 2027). You must also not possess more than 12 months of full-time work experience. The Private Banking Environment

One of the key benefits of private banking is the high level of confidentiality and anonymity it provides. Private Banking customers consist of some of the richest and most powerful people in the world. Prior to the 2007-2008 financial crisis, Private Banking services were virtually 100% anonymous. After the crisis, private banks came under heavy scrutiny and were compelled to comply with certain government regulations. For example, consider a wealth manager who has worked with a specific customer for five years. The wealth manager knows all the customer’s dealings and, thus, can provide him with the specific services that he needs. If the wealth manager becomes dissatisfied with his employer, he might be tempted to leave and take the customer with him. It is especially important for Private Banks to keep their employees satisfied - more so than in other industries. In addition, Private Banks often include a non-compete clause in their employee contracts.

On the other hand, relationship managers are responsible for maintaining good ties with all existing clients and finding new potential clients.
