While Questbridge partners with many of the country’s most prestigious schools, Harvard has not opted into the program. That being said, students who receive the Questbridge award can use it at many different top-tier schools. Additionally, it’s worth noting that a school like Harvard has very generous need-based financial aid. If a student who has high enough need to earn the Questbridge award also gains admission to Harvard, it is likely they will receive a generous aid package that will allow them to attend the school without too significant of a financial burden.
Success Stories and Transformative Experiences

The QuestBridge Application and Selection Process
The Questbridge Scholarship is very competitive, so if you are sending in an application, it’s a good idea to give it your all. The Questbridge Scholarship takes three main factors into account: Financial need, GPA, and standardized test scores. So, it’s a good idea to take your test prep seriously. However, earning the Questbridge scholarship is not a guarantee that you will get into these schools. You’ll still have to apply to the schools, and you have the option to use your Questbridge Scholarship at any of the partner schools that grant you admission.
Letters of Recommendation
When it comes to letters of recommendation, it’s never too early to ask. In fact, the more time you give your recommender, the better chance they will have an opportunity to sit down and give the letter their all. Whether you are asking your teacher, your counselor, your coach, your boss, or a leader in your community, make sure not to put off your request.
Personal Essays
The Questbridge application involves writing personal essays. It’s a good idea to start brainstorming for these well in advance. Try writing down the first experiences that come to your mind when you see the prompt, just as bullet points. Don’t worry about writing the actual essay. Then, ask some friends and family how they think the prompts apply to you. Sit down and write a first draft and show it to peers, teachers, and people with writing expertise.
The National College Match
The ability to rank colleges is one way the National College Match is unique from other college and scholarship applications. By ranking colleges, you could be “matched” - admitted early with a guaranteed full four-year Match Scholarship - to the college that appears highest on your list that is also able to match with you. You can rank up to 15 colleges in order of preference, while typical Early Decision admission processes allow you to apply to just one college. All of our college partners offer strong academic environments and the resources and support for you to thrive on campus and beyond. We encourage you to research all of our college partners as you decide which schools to rank. Typically, students who rank more colleges have a higher chance of matching. However, remember that the Match is binding, so you should only rank schools you are certain you would be excited to attend if matched.

Most Questbridge partner schools have stated that they do not consider Questbridge Match applications with any higher priority than regular applications. So, while Questbridge alleviates the burden of paying for school once you’re admitted, it is far from being a ticket to admission in the Ivy Leagues.
