Redford Union High School (RUHS), a secondary school located in Redford, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, boasts a rich history and a legacy of accomplished alumni. Also on this evening, we officially revealed the first completed phase of the RU Athletics Hall of Honor renovation. The school plans to make this an annual event, with a new group being inducted each year. The selection process acknowledges the many deserving former student-athletes, coaches, and volunteers. This does not mean that some are more deserving than others - it will take time and patience to catch up.

Redford High School (Detroit): A Separate Entity
It is important to note that Redford High School, which was a part of Detroit Public Schools, is a different institution from Redford Union High School. Redford High School opened in September 1921 and ceased operations in June 2007. Detroit's Cooley and Cody High School absorbed much of the attendance area from Redford; including Brightmoor and Grandmont. In June 2015, a Meijer store opened on the Redford site.
